In this weekends Southern Daily Echo column, Natasha explored how food brings us all together, and highlights some of the fantastic opportunities to explore some of Hampshire’s best local produce at two upcoming agricultural shows.
On 5th September, Natasha will be judging the Local Produce Area at Alresfordshow - a display of some of the very best produce from the county, showcasing the skills, time, patience and pride that we don’t see when buying from supermarket shelves.
Alresford Show is a wonderful reminder of how food is part of a much bigger rural picture. Livestock, horses, horticulture, machinery, crafts, shopping and local produce all come together for a day that celebrates the countryside and the people who work in it.
Then, a week later, Hampshire Fare will be returning for another year at The Romsey Show on Saturday 12th September, where Natasha will be hosting the skills kitchen. It’s another brilliant opportunity to see local chefs in action, catch some insightful producer talks and even experience a Hampshire cocktail masterclass!
Events like these are your opportunity to meet the people behind our local food businesses, ask questions and learn a little more about the food and countryside on our doorstep. We hope to see you there!
