Ossett Flower Club Flower Arranging - Friendship through Flowers. Love flowers? Why not join us for an evening of flower arranging demonstrations and workshops. All welcome.

We are a group of enthusiastic and friendly flower arrangers, who meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7.15pm in the concert room of the Ossett Central Club in New Street. We learn new design ideas and techniques from qualified NAFAS demonstrators or through workshops. The club was established in 1971. Some members take part in flower shows, flower festivals and fund raising events. No experien

ce is needed to join us. An annual membership fee of £40 is payable in September. Visitors are always welcome to attend at a cost of £8 for the evening. Refreshments are available. In addition to our club meetings flower arranging classes are held on the 3rd Monday of the month March to November.

Due to a problem with the ceiling at Ossett WMC tonight's club meeting, which is a workshop, is cancelled. This is not something we had any control over and we can only apologise. We will do the planned workshop at a later date as mentioned in the email sent to members yesterday.

Our club meeting this month was a talk by Jo Worral about Bee keeping and the benefits of honey. We learnt so much and had the chance to buy local honey as the bees collect their pollen south of Wakefield.
Jo finished with a short demonstration of her floristry skills providing many items for the raffle.

As this is the time year when our gardens are bare our last class in January created a design using few flowers and foliage worked into a hoop. Everyone enjoyed this creative way of displaying flowers.

On the third Monday of each month we hold flower arranging classes. 🌸 A picture and requirements are sent to each participant 10 days before hand. There are a few places left for the next class on 19 January. If interested message us and details will be sent. 📨
