NEW WEBSITE - NEW TEAS - 20% OFF

Hello old friends. It's been quite a while since any posts on this page. I hope you have all been finding your way through this past year as best as can be.

Although Lee Rosy's the place closed in 2018, the tea range is still for sale in its own little corner of the internet. Recently, the LR webshop has had a complete makeover (www.leerosyshop.com), and there are even a few new teas to try as well.

One particular new feature I want to share - it's the Lee Rosy's Tea Finder. (www.leerosyshop.com/tea-finder-4-w.asp) It's an interactive recommender-er. You start with every tea in the range in a big pile in front of you, and the aim is to whittle them down until you find just a few that suit your tastes the best. Explore flavour profiles, assortment themes, or any search word. Fair warning though: if you are too picky with the filter buttons, the app will start to gently insult you.

As it's been a while, and we're probably all in need of a bit of cheering up, there is a special offer of 20% off ALL orders from now until the high street shops open again on the 12th April (UK orders only). If you know someone who you think would like some tea, please spread the word. To get this discount, enter the coupon code "TWEN-TEA" on the checkout order summary page.

Hello everyone. After over 12 years, it is time for us to close up shop.

Our lease expired several months ago and I have decided not to renew it - many years of rising costs and a tough trading climate mean that it is time for us to bow out, I’m afraid. Our last day open will be Sunday 27th May - just over a week from now.

Sorry that this is such short notice for everybody. Our deadline for signing a new lease or moving out was the end of May, and for several months I was trying to resolve things to everybody’s satisfaction, but it was not to be. But since the decision has gone down to the wire it means that there is not much time now to tell people about our closing date.

You will all still be able to buy our tea online from the Lee Rosy’s webshop, at www.lee-rosy.co.uk - that is not going anywhere. Our monthly subscription club will continue too (apologies to our subscribers that the current month is running late - I have been preoccupied with working out these questions, so it will go out on Monday). And if you are a local cafe or restaurant who would like to stock our tea, get in touch as we can still do that too.

Please spread the word to anyone who might miss us. And come and drop in on us before next Sunday - we have had a good run and we'll go out with our heads held high.

Thanks everyone for all your support over the years. You will survive.

Hello everyone, this is Andrew from Lee Rosy’s.

We have come to the end of our current lease here, and a lease renewal is due to commence in a few months. I am writing this because I have been running Lee Rosy’s for 12 years now, and it may well be time for a transition to a new owner-manager.

Costs have been rising a lot in the past few years, and looking ahead, circumstances may call for a new and additional sales avenue such as licensed opening in the evenings and/or a bigger wholesale focus, at the same time as continuing focus on the daytime offering. For my part, I don’t really drink; if branching out into evening bar opening is one way to go, I would not be the best person to do it.

I would like to hear from any interested parties who think they could be the ones with the experience, resources and enthusiasm to take Lee Rosy’s forward for the next three years and beyond. (I can still be involved, but not as a general manager.)

Please note that this is a business opportunity, not a job posting, and it will not be applicable to the vast majority of people. Running a business is a major undertaking, and the challenging market conditions mean that I can only consider a person (or people) who fulfil these three criteria:

- Prior experience owning and managing at least one similar business successfully.
- The resources to assume the financial risk of a business – there will be more cost increases over the next few years.
- Culture fit with what Lee Rosy’s is and does: for example, an interest in and support for the various arts scenes in the city, and a hub for a broad range of local communities and groups.
