A little photo dump from the summer of crafting nerd goods 📸
It’s been a busy few weeks. So thank you for the support as always. 🧙🧙‍♂️🍻

Printing, designing, shipping… and generally having playmats absolutely everywhere.

Here’s a little glimpse of what’s been going on behind the scenes at Holden Print House. We’ve also got two board books designed by us on the way — one LOTR and one D&D (In development). 👀 We may have a 100% original card game in the pipeline 😎.

And the last pic? A little sneak preview of a drop coming this Friday… 👀

Tolkien fans!! 🧙‍♂️🌿

If you want your fellow MTG players to know that you've watched all of the extended cuts. Or you just want to vibe out your desk. This one is for you.

We're so excited to finally share our latest Artist Forge collaboration with the incredibly talented Louie Maryon.

The Great Goblin feels like a page rescued from an old scholar's archive. Scribbled observations. Creature studies. Strange symbols. Fragments of forgotten lore. So much work has gone into making this feel like a genuine artefact from The Wizard archives.

It's the kind of playmat people stop to read and you will still be discovering months later. It's ideal for those long commander games when people take 25 minutes per turn. *Cough* blue players. *Cough*

As an Artist Forge collab , this directly supports real artists making original fantasy art.

We would love to turn this into a series. If so, what creature or character should we do next? Smaug maybe?? 🧙‍♂️

We caved! 👹

Saw a lonely Marvel Collector Booster in town and figured one pack wouldn't hurt.

Let's see if we instantly regret it.

Not every hero starts with a sword.

Some start with a goblin, a questionable plan, and a dragon that definitely should have been left alone.

Like many goblin players, we didn't get the Secret Lair we were hoping for. We were sad.

So we did what any self-respecting goblin would do...

We made our own.

This slightly unhinged goblin & dragon playmat was born from equal parts disappointment, stubbornness, and a complete disregard for consequences.

We don't want fantasy approved by a committee. We want fantasy discovered in a damp dungeon.

This is the first piece in our new Dark Art Wizardry series.

More weirdness is coming.

We spend most of our time making things. 🧙‍♂️🧙

This time, we got to mess around with a real camera. On film, no less.

Months of work later… the entire book has officially been sent off to the manufacturers. ⚡📖

This Gandalf spread is one of our favourites, so we really wanted to share it. 🎆

Swipe backwards through the process — from the finished illustration all the way back to some of the rough concepts, mechanic tests, and little sneak peeks inside the InDesign files.

Genuinely, thank you to everyone that’s followed along and helped shape this project with your feedback and votes. ❤️

👹 Horror art and MTG just belong together honestly.

There’s something about beautiful fantasy getting warped into something unsettling that hits way harder than another clean generic mana symbol floating in space.

I missed the Junji Ito cards the first time around… but honestly maybe that’s fine.
Because Rotworks was always built for the slightly warped individuals that want fantasy art with a little more bite to it.

More strangely beautiful things coming.
