UPDATE 5/11 : Anyone Still Having Problems?

Please comment if you're having problems getting onto our site : www.retrogames.co.uk :

While here in the UK all the site issues were resolved last Friday (31st) traffic is low compared to before the outage. It may be that you have tried to get onto the site and have been given a 'Forbidden' message by your browser, we experienced issues like this ourselves last week in Chrome, but you just need to clear your cookies for our site, and everything jumps back to normal.

A few countries remain blocked since the attack, but if you are in the UK / Europe / USA / Canada / Israel / Saudi Arabia / Japan / Australia / New Zealand / South Korea - the site is live and should be working for you - if not, please do let me know so I can get our IT guys to look into it. Many thanks.

SITE FIXED : MISSING PHOTOS: NOW FIXED

We did have a new issue with some photos not appearing straight away, particularly on large 300 item enquiries. Now fixed

The desktop site is now live again to all customers in the UK, Ireland and Europe. We think we may have determined where the attack is coming from - hopefully things will be back to normal soon.

More issues at Retrogames this afternoon. The attackers came back, so desktop site turned off again. Insane situation, and very stressful here in the RG office. Now we wait again...

RETROGAMES WEBSITE BACK ONLINE

Phew! We are now back online, huge thanks to everyone for their support over the past couple of days.

Rest assured the website was not infiltrated or data breached in any way. We basically turned the site off until the bullies went away - and actually still had access here in the office, so we've even been listing some new stuff.

Also bear in mind that we don't store any financial information at all - that's all within your Paypal account.

It's possible you may encounter the classic '500 Internal Server Error' in your browser if you've been trying to access the site a lot while it's been down. Very easy to fix, on chrome just click the sliders icon on the left of the URL box, and delete the cookies for the retrogames site. Then try again and the site will ask you to agree to the cookies and you'll be all ready to browse and shop.

Of course, a very fraught start to the week here, so if you really want to show us some love - just buy something and give us something to send out 🤣😂 www.retrogames.co.uk

WEBSITE UPDATES:

29th 08:40 Better news on day three of the outage, the attack has greatly reduced, and we are also implementing a workaround. Hopefully today is the day things get back to normal.

28th 16:09 The site is still being hammered sadly, we have a potential work-around with a new cookie request, something that prevents these bots from getting through to the site if they don't accept - which would block all the rogue traffic. Hopefully more news soon

I'll try to keep this post updated with the latest info about our current website situation.

Yesterday morning (27th) we had a denial of service attack attempt on the desktop site, so took it offline for its own protection. At that point the mobile site was unaffected. We went back online yesterday evening, but the installed blocking software was causing time-out issues.

This morning (28th) we came under attack again, so have again taken down the site for its own protection. This time the mobile site too - just in case.

Now - please don't worry about your data on the site. We have not been breached, nothing has been taken - we do not store any financial info anyway, just order history.

Hopefully we'll be up and running again later today, I"ll keep you updated here.

SITE ISSUES - We are working on it

This morning (28th) the site has been taken down again for its own protection. Just the safest thing to do to protect all the data.

This all began yesterday morning (27th), and while it was up and running again yesterday evening, the attack resumed today. Someone doesn't like us!

This also includes the mobile site which has been shut down to protect the database. Apologies for any inconvenience.

I'll post any updates here ongoing.
