🚨 calling all London experts! 🚨

Me and hubs (and the pups) are heading to London next week and for the first time ever I’m staying more than one night (thanks to my stupidity - there’s another story) and MIGHT have enough time to head to the vintage shops 👀

So my question is to the London experts - where do you recommend for the best shops?

I want to see the best the capital has to offer. So give me all your suggestions!

All clothing is handmade, by someone, somewhere. But handmade from independent makers in the UK, paying themselves a fair wage who have rising overheads and don’t get bulk discounts is expensive.

Because it should be expensive.

Because it’s true luxury.

You can feel the love and care and talent that has gone into the garment.

You know what feels even better? Wearing something you have made yourself.

I couldn’t afford to buy from independent designers, so I learnt to sew. It was the best thing I ever did. So this account is going to be here more to encourage you to do the same than to sell you things, because if I can do it so can you!

Sewing opened up opportunities for me like I never imagined. The confidence it has given me, feeling like myself in items I have decided I neeeeeed in my wardrobe - need them so much I’ll spend a day making them - priceless.

❤️

My take on the news about British Heart Foundation 💔

04/06/2026

There’s so many new face around here 🤯 so I wanted to say hi 👋

I’m Nicole, AKA The Fruit Moth.

I started my brand in 2020 using preloved fabrics (your grandmas curtains) to create unique clothing and accessories that don’t cost the earth.

Things have changed around here in the past year though.

After organising my DIY wedding last year, I made the difficult decision to close my shop - something which had been my childhood dream.

It knocked my confidence more than I admitted at the time, and I found myself losing the urge to sew and in turn - losing myself a bit.

But since moving into my dream cottage in February - I have well and truly found my sew-jo again, but lost all interest in trying to sell my makes.

So now I’m just sewing for the love of it. Being creative. Making things with no worries about how long they’ll take or how much they’ll cost to make.

Because in truth - having to consider profit margins really does put a barrier between you and your creativity!

Who knows what the future holds - but for the first time in years I’m not worrying about that too much and I’m enjoying just LIVING 🎉

Hello new profile picture 👋

I had the MOST fun with on my mini branding shoot last month at the most beautiful Victorian house in Cheadle 😍

I took three of my makes to have photos in, this was my birthday dress and the colours are just so amazing. I found the fabric in Abakhan in the remnant bins, and the dress pattern is the flutter sleeve dress from The Assembly Line with the balloon sleeve option and an added waist belt.

Thank you so much Jess for making me feel so comfortable on the day and taking some photos that I actually like 😂

I’ll share more soon 😍
