Congrats Craig Wood! 🏆⛵️

The Blesma Member has been named the winner of the Seamaster Award, in recognition of his epic solo sail across the Pacific.

At just 18, he was serving as a British Army rifleman in Afghanistan when he was blown up by a roadside bomb, losing both legs and his arm.

What followed was years of grit, rehab, and rebuilding — and then Craig went and did the unthinkable: becoming the first triple amputee to sail solo, non-stop and unsupported across the Pacific.

From all of us at Blesma: congratulations, Craig!

What triple amputee Craig Wood learned by sailing into the history books with a non-stop, 90-day, 7,506-mile unassisted voyage.

Great to see our book Finding My Sea Legs by Craig Wood Sails and Amy Willis being serialised in German magazine Yacht.de this month after he scooped up a well-deserved Seamaster award 🙌⛵️

You can read a cheeky chapter from the book Finding My Sea Legs (part one) on the magazine’s website here 👉 https://www.yacht.de/en/special/people/autobiography-how-seamaster-award-winner-craig-wood-became-a-solo-sailor/

It will also be translated into German when the hard copy of the magazine comes out in Europe too.

And of course don’t forget to buy the book from Bonito Books (20% off in January right now) or Amazon.

✨ Absolutely thrilled to share this: Finding My Sea Legs by and and published by Bonito Books is featured inside this month’s edition of ⛵️💙

Finding My Sea Legs isn’t a glossy sailing memoir. It’s raw. It’s real. It’s the true story of Craig Wood’s journey after his life was violently altered when he was blown up while serving in Afghanistan. From catastrophic injuries and learning to live again, to battling trauma, grief, and identity loss — this book doesn’t hold back.

Sailing becomes more than an adventure. It becomes survival. Healing. Purpose. The ocean offers both punishment and peace, forcing Craig to confront his fear, pain, and resilience head-on, while redefining what strength really looks like. The story weaves grit, humour, and hope into a powerful testament to the human spirit.

If you think this is just a sailing book — think again. It’s about rebuilding a life when everything you knew has been taken away, and finding freedom in the most unlikely place. 🌊🔥
