Rather than relying on decoration, this master bathroom is shaped almost entirely through material and form. Rosa Portugal marble wraps the room in a continuous sweep of softly veined stone, where scalloped detailing and curved walls create an atmosphere that feels both sculptural and deeply immersive. Nestled within the carved recess, Drummonds’ brushed brass basin taps deepen the sense of warmth and tactility against the blush-toned marble.

The vanity draws on architectural references ranging from Saxon stone carving to the quiet restraint of Japanese tokonoma alcoves, its pierced petal motifs adding depth without excess. Nearby, curtains crafted from vintage wedding saris diffuse the light with a delicate shimmer. Sculptural yet intimate, the space unfolds as a meditation on craftsmanship, ritual and considered living.

This cabin room bathroom embraces a quieter, more intimate character. Beneath sloping eaves, painted timber panelling and soft natural light create a space that feels closely connected to the river beyond. Positioned beside a small-paned window, the bath looks out towards the water, allowing the changing landscape to become part of the everyday experience.

Set apart from the main space, a compact ensuite powder room introduces a sense of privacy within the footprint. Here, the wall-mounted Bourne basin is paired with antique brass fittings, their hand-finished surfaces bringing warmth and quiet definition against the pale timber backdrop. Every detail has been considered with restraint, creating an interior where material, proportion and atmosphere sit in quiet balance.

Small in scale but rich in character, this en-suite by Studio Jute proves that thoughtful design is never defined by square footage. Deep burgundy joinery and decorative tilework establish a confident visual identity, while crisp white glazed tiles reflect light and enhance the sense of space. At the centre, the Grand Union Syre vanity makes use of every inch, combining generous storage with a furniture-like presence. Looking out across a quiet stretch of the River Thames, this Queen Anne house has been thoughtfully reimagined by Wiggy Hindmarch, founder of Wiggy Kit. In the principal bathroom, a marble walk-in shower forms a central spine, subtly dividing the room while allowing light and movement to pass through. Beyond it, the freestanding Meon bath is positioned before the fireplace - an unexpected gesture that lends the space a distinctly furnished, almost drawing-room quality.

Here, Drummonds’ brassware introduces warmth and tactility, its hand-finished surfaces catching the light and softening against the rich veining of the marble. The balance between architecture and decoration feels instinctive rather than imposed, resulting in a bathroom that is shaped by ritual, material and a thoughtful sense of proportion.

Every element has been carefully considered, creating a space that speaks to craftsmanship, material integrity and thoughtful design.

Craftsmanship is woven through every layer of this riverside country house in North Yorkshire. Honed Volakas marble, hand-washed silk walls and unlacquered brass lend warmth and texture, creating an atmosphere more akin to the principal living spaces than a conventional bathroom. Repeated across the two bathrooms, the Meon freestanding bath and Double Crake vanity create a quiet thread of continuity, reinforcing the home's measured proportions and restrained material palette. The result is a collection of spaces that feel calm, considered and deeply connected to the architecture of the house.

Set within the rolling landscape of North Yorkshire, this newly built riverside home by Stephen Neall Group draws on the enduring language of the English country house. Although contemporary in construction, the principal bathroom was conceived with the same care and consideration often reserved for the restoration of a period home. At its centre, the Meon freestanding bath and double Crake vanity establish a perfectly balanced composition, while honed Volakas marble, hand-washed silk walls and unlacquered brass fittings bring warmth, texture and quiet refinement. Every detail, from the glass-free walk-in shower to the concealed WC, reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, symmetry and thoughtful design, resulting in a luxury bathroom that feels both timeless and deeply connected to its setting.
