Beautiful wax sculpture from artist ・・・
My new piece “EVEN THIS SHALL BE HEALED” for the exhibition “Healing” / “Heel Kracht” in the St Bertinus Kerk and Gasthuiskapel of , , . The show commemorates the Flemish nurses of the First World War and is curated by and Annemie Morisse. It is one of the venues of the art festival of kunstenfestival.
The beds in my installation are original and were used in the town; the costume and militaria are also original. The nurse is gazing up at a 17th century painting in the church of the Raising of Lazarus. I have already been asked repeatedly whether the soldiers are alive or dead; the answer is, I hardly know myself, but I am sure she will help them, or at least do her best.
