A few months ago, we shared a fabulous bottle of olive oil from Sicilian makers, Frantoi Cutrera.
Since then, we've got to know these producers extremely well... and they've introduced us to something rather special.
But first, here's what makes Frantoi Cutrera a little different: The family mill sits at the end of a long stone track, in the hills between Etna and the Mediterranean sea. It's a landscape studded with ancient olive trees as far as you can see.
Incredibly, the same family has lived and worked here for six generations.
But it's recent history that has been particularly exciting. In the past 20 years they have won 700+ flavour awards. Yes, 700!
The family's oil is exquisite. The 'Primo' is one I currently recommend first to friends looking for something special.
But a few weeks ago, we realised there's so much more to discover here...
We met the Frantoi Cutrera team, and they brought out a selection of jars and bottles we'd never seen before:
🍅 Sun-dried cherry tomatoes, tender artichoke hearts, dark black olives - preserved in incredible oil.
🍑 Sicilian apricot jam, locally grown lemon marmalade, and fragrant blood orange preserve.
🍝 Rich tomato pasta sauce, made with Sicilian fennel seeds, capers and sausage.
Jar after jar kept coming out - and with each one, our excitement rose! This is a 'capsule collection' of the real flavours of Sicily.
The delivery has just arrived.
Be one of the first to try them. And bring a true flavour of Sicily to your kitchen!
