The unique beauty of the silk weave is captured through a careful rendering of its texture on the dial, harmoniously paired with delicate colour tones. A series of concentric grooves with varying widths creates a unique radial shimmer that shifts with the light, embodying the Japanese aesthetic of ‘beauty in utility;’ making useful also beautiful.

Inspired by the Japanese art of silk dyeing, ‘Sakura Iro,’ is a light pink representing the delicate petals of the cherry blossom – one of Japan’s most beloved natural symbols & ‘Shironeri,’ is the pure white shade of whitened silk before dyeing – a nod to the traditional technique of removing the yellow tint from raw silk to reveal a luminous, refined white.

Taking a closer look at a highly anticipated expansion to the Seiko Presage Classic Series, which is now officially open for pre-order at WATCHO ahead of its upcoming global launch.

Now, for years, enthusiasts have engaged in a constant debate regarding Seiko's case proportions, often finding themselves torn between ultra-traditional 36mm dress profiles and the more contemporary 40mm or 42mm variants. With this release, Seiko has answered the call by delivering a definitive "Goldilocks" sweet spot: a beautifully proportioned 38mm case diameter.

The unifying narrative behind this new collection is an artistic tribute to the historic Tomioka Silk Mill. Each curved canvas is stamped with a complex, wavy concentric texture that masterfully replicates the organic drape and natural lustre of fine silk textiles as it shifts under a double-domed sapphire crystal.

"Sakura Iro Pink" (Ref. HCC003): A deeply subtle, romantic cherry blossom pink dial elegantly paired with a sustainable matte brown leather strap.

"Shironeri White" (Ref. HCC001): Inspired by the immaculate purity of un-dyed, raw silk threads. It offers incredible radial shimmer and comes fitted on a highly fluid, 1970s-inspired multi-row steel bracelet.

"Wakatake Iro Green" (Ref. HCC002): A rich, vibrant green channeling the precise shade of young bamboo favored for centuries in traditional kimono dyeing, matching the same multi-row steel bracelet.

The Tomioka Silk Limited Edition (Ref. HCC008): Strictly limited to just 2,000 pieces worldwide. This standout piece features a rare pearl-like dial coating to replicate ultra-premium "Gunma-Hoso" silk, beautifully contrasted by a polished rose gold-plated case and a distinct coin-edge bezel.

Pre-order today on WATCHO, these come with a £50 loyalty credit upon purchase. What are your thoughts on the silk textures in a 38mm Presage footprint?

The Bulova Lunar Pilot Timascus Limited Edition is a fascinating study in horological juxtaposition, taking the austere, utilitarian DNA of an iconic Apollo-era space chronograph and completely reimagining it through a lens of modern artistic expression.

By pairing the stark, historically significant 43.5mm case architecture and the blistering precision of Bulova’s proprietary 262 kHz high-frequency quartz movement with an unrepeatable, heat-blued Titanium Damascus dial, Bulova has created a piece that commands attention while challenging our traditional expectations of what a heritage reissue can be.

It’s an incredibly compelling, polarizing release that bridges the gap between pure tool-watch capability and contemporary pop art, offering a level of individual character that is virtually unheard of at this price point and leaving a lasting impression on anyone who appreciates the intersection of material science and design.

Today, we are looking at an absolute powerhouse that marries razor-sharp geometry with a deep nod to Japanese watchmaking history, the Seiko Prospex 145th Anniversary 'Samurai' Limited Edition.

The Legend of the Samurai Case: This watch family earned its fierce cult nickname from its distinct, highly architectural case. Sharply faceted, angular surfaces that look as if they were cleanly sliced by the edge of a traditional Japanese Katana sword.

The "Seiko Blue" Anniversary Tribute: The striking colourway is a celebratory nod to Seiko's 145-year legacy. The electric blue on the seconds hand and the bezel is "Seiko Blue", a signature corporate hue used by the brand since the mid-century to signify their pioneering, high-precision identity.

The High-Contrast Two-Tone Bezel: For maximum utility on and off the water, the unidirectional rotating bezel splits its colourway, pairing the signature blue with a stark, grey-highlighted scale for the first 15 minutes of tracking elapsed time.

A Textured Silver Canvas: The dial trades flat paint for a beautifully textured, silver-white matte finish. This subtle pattern catches natural light without creating harsh glare, allowing the polished indices and hands to pop with flawless legibility.

The Streamlined Footprint: While early Samurais were famously bulky tool watches, this modern limited edition is remarkably refined. It measures a highly wearable 41.7mm in diameter with a slender 12.3mm thickness, sitting low and curving naturally to the wrist.

The Re-Engineered Steel Bracelet: To match the sharp lines of the case, the solid stainless steel bracelet features clean chamfering on the centre links, complete with a secure folding clasp and an integrated wetsuit extension.

This release is strictly limited to 9,999 pieces worldwide, each individually numbered on the solid screw-down caseback. The 145th Anniversary Samurai is officially in stock at WATCHO.

The Seiko Prospex Alpinist GMT Ref. HBC007J1 offers a highly anticipated, globe-trotting evolution to one of the brand's most historically significant sports watch collections.

This ex*****on brings a true mechanical GMT complication into the familiar Alpinist footprint, pairing a rich emerald green sunray dial with cathedral hands, gold-finished indices, and a dedicated 24-hour GMT hand. Rather than standard world-time layouts, it keeps the classic Alpinist architecture intact, complete with the internal rotating compass bezel operated by the secondary crown at 4 o'clock and a date window sitting beneath a cyclops magnifier.

Housed in a 39.5mm stainless steel case with a wearable 13.6mm thickness, it features a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a robust 200 meters of water resistance. It is powered by the automatic calibre 6R54, displaying the mechanical engine's impressive 3-day (72-hour) power reserve through a solid screw-down caseback. This release stands as one of the most practical and aesthetically cohesive interpretations of the modern explorer's watch.

We have officially opened our order books, and the watch is available for pre-order right now at WATCHO ahead of its upcoming global launch.

What are your thoughts on Seiko finally bringing the true GMT movement to the classic green and gold Alpinist?

Can a watch dial have its own sense of physical depth?

Today, we are unboxing a phenomenal sister pair from Geneve, the Frederique Constant Classics Quartz Index in shimmering Silver (FC-220SS5B6) and deep, moody Grey (FC-220DGS5B6).

When you first strap these onto your wrist, you’ll notice something immediately mesmerizing, the dial has an almost holographic, 3-dimensional presence.

The Convex Illusion: That dramatic depth isn't a trick of the mind. Frederique Constant pairs a deeply reflective sunray finish dial with a premium, convexly domed sapphire crystal. The curved crystal gently bends natural light, making the hand-polished, diamond-cut indices look like they are floating above the face.

The 8.6mm Profile: Despite the massive visual depth of the face, look at it from the side. At just 8.61mm thick, this is an ultra-slim masterclass that slides effortlessly beneath a crisp tailored cuff.

The Luxury Hybrid Strap: The strap feels just as good as it looks. It features premium calf leather embossed with a sharp alligator pattern on the outside, backed by a velvety-soft nubuck finish on the inner lining for elite, all-day wrist comfort.

Pure GADA Precision: Powered by the Swiss-made FC-220 caliber, this watch delivers flawless accuracy with an incredible 45-month battery lifespan. Just pure, high-grade Swiss luxury whenever you need it.

Whether you lean toward the bright versatility of the Silver Sunray or the industrial stealth of the Grey, this collection entirely redefines what an accessible Swiss dress watch can be.

Both references are officially in stock right now at WATCHO.
