Many of you know, supporting women through perimenopause and menopause is one of the areas we care deeply about at Felly Health & Wellness CIC.
I've had the pleasure of connecting with Diane, the founder of Menopause Support CIC, and we've spoken about the challenges many women face when trying to access menopause information, support, and guidance.

I wanted to share this wonderful initiative from her organisation.
Menopause Support CIC is offering free menopause consultations for women experiencing financial hardship. Their team provides evidence-based information, a listening ear, and support to help women make informed choices about their health.

No woman should feel alone during menopause.
If you think this service could benefit you, a friend, family member, or colleague, please take a look at the information below.

At Felly Health & Wellness CIC, we believe in sharing trusted resources and connecting our community with organisations that are making a real difference in women's lives.

Thank you Diane and the Menopause Support CIC team for the important work you do.

We often talk about PCOS
/PMOS
and fertility, acne, and weight gain.
But there are other long-term health risks that deserve attention too.
When periods become very infrequent or stop for many months, the lining of the womb can continue to build up. Over time, this may increase the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and, in some cases, endometrial cancer.
That's why prevention matters.

Regular health checks, managing metabolic risk factors, maintaining a healthy weight, and seeking medical advice when periods are absent for prolonged periods can help identify problems early.
PCOS/PMOS is not just a reproductive condition. It is a lifelong health condition that can affect metabolic, cardiovascular, and gynaecological health.
Prevention is not just about avoiding disease. It's about protecting your future health.

What are your thoughts? Do you think we invest enough in prevention?

I watched a video recently that said something that really made me think:

"The NHS is excellent when you're sick. But what about before you become sick?"

As a healthcare professional, I see this often.

Take PCOS (or PMOS as some are now referring to it). Many women are diagnosed because of irregular periods, acne, unwanted hair growth, fertility concerns, or weight struggles.

But the bigger question is this:

What happens 5, 10, or 15 years later?

Some women may go on to develop:
• Type 2 diabetes
• High blood pressure
• High cholesterol
• Fatty liver disease
• Heart disease

These conditions don't usually appear overnight.

They often develop gradually through insulin resistance, weight gain, poor sleep, chronic stress, and other metabolic changes.

This is where prevention matters.

Imagine if every woman with PCOS received:
✓ Education about insulin resistance
✓ Support with healthy eating
✓ Regular blood pressure and diabetes checks
✓ Help with exercise and weight management
✓ Access to peer support and wellbeing programmes

How many future cases of diabetes and heart disease could potentially be prevented?

Treatment is important.

But prevention is powerful.

Healthcare shouldn't only begin when disease appears. It should start when risk appears.

That's why I'm passionate about women's health education, awareness, and empowering people to understand their bodies before problems become crises.

What are your thoughts? Do you think we invest enough in prevention?

It’s not just heavy periods.
For many women, fibroids can affect daily life in ways that are often dismissed, misunderstood, or suffered through in silence.
Heavy bleeding, tiredness, anaemia, pelvic pain, pressure symptoms, fertility worries, anxiety, and loss of confidence are not things you should have to manage alone.
At Felly Health & Wellness CIC, we are creating a safe, supportive space for women to talk, learn, share experiences, and access trusted wellbeing support.
If you are living with fibroids, PCOS, menopause concerns, fertility challenges, heavy periods, or ongoing women’s health worries, we want you to know:
You are not imagining it. You are not being dramatic. You are not alone.

I want to speak directly to the woman who has spent years feeling like a failure at managing her own body.
You tried the diets. You tried the exercise plans. You tried cutting carbs, going dairy-free, tracking every calorie. And your body responded differently to everyone else's. It felt like the rules didn't apply to you — because actually, they didn't.
Your body has been operating under a different set of biological rules. Rules shaped by insulin resistance, by androgen excess, by hormonal disruption that starts at the cellular level.
When your insulin isn't working properly, your cells are literally starved of energy despite adequate food intake. Your body holds onto fat as protection. Your hunger hormones are dysregulated. Your motivation and energy are affected by real, measurable hormonal patterns — not by lack of willpower.
You were never lazy. You were never weak. You were managing a complex, multisystem condition called PMOS — without the right information, without metabolic support, often without even the right diagnosis.
You deserved better. You deserve better now.
And it is not too late to start again — with the right understanding, the right support, and the right care.
Felly Health and Wellness CIC — working alongside your NHS care. 💜
