Today we raised £112.50 for Raising for Rigzy and ticket #104 also took home the same amount! Congratulations!! We had such a brilliant day meeting so many people and were delighted to have not only made one lucky winners day, but to have made a significant contribution to a cause we really care about. The funds will support a young father who suffered a life changing and severe spinal cord injury in a RTA on his way to work. Your contributions today mean he can continue to smash all the targets his doctors told him he would never reach and go towards accessing vital treatment, equipment and the costs associated with his long journey of rehabilitation. As someone who also developed with a life changing spinal cord injury, this cause was so incredibly important to me for us to be involved in and although the day has been very long and physically challenging, I will feel more than happy to take some time now to rest and recover knowing how much of an impact we made and that it was all worthwhile!

Massive thanks to my wonderful friend, Emma of Crafty Cat Events who shared a stall with us and was on hand to support me when I needed a break.

You can book us for your event for free in East & North Yorkshire! Outside of this area we may need to charge for transport, but please message to ask if you have something you’d like us to come along to! The more people we help, the better!

And finally…. A massive well done to the Raising for Rigzy team who are a group of friends doing all of this stuff off their own backs. The event today was amazing and you all should be really proud of what you’ve achieved. Community spirit at its absolute finest.

And read the story of the boy and the scooter that started it all…

☀️This is the reason I’ve been quiet today, we’ve been out making memories!
The scooter in the picture is mine, but only because the boy in the picture completed a 10 day sponsored bounce early last year and honestly it’s absolutely changed our lives. Community Wins is my way of giving back to the community who made it possible. 🥰

My son was aged just 7 at the time. He’s such a super boy. Owing to a complex spinal condition we really struggled to get out for adventures with him and life hadn’t been normal for us as a family for so long. Zach, my son, managed to raise nearly £2,000 which bought us our freedom. We’ve had so many adventures since, no where is out of bounds for us anymore. I cannot tell you how overwhelmingly grateful I am every time we pack it in the car for a day out, or even just take it round the block with the dogs, or over to the supermarket. Having mobility issues really can make the world feel so lonely and distant.

Community Wins will support causes great and small. From people needing fundraising for equipment, adaptations or treatments, just like I once did, to established non-profits and charities. My dream is to help the underdogs. The causes that really need help getting their message out and reaching a target and don’t have the man power to make the impact they deserve.

📣📣It’s with this in mind that I’m delighted to tell you that nominations are now open for fundraising in October. 📣📣

We will support a new cause every month from October, voted for by YOU! And do some smaller inbetween special cause draws, but to do that, we need to know who YOU want us to support!
