What if growing up didn’t mean leaving parts of yourself behind? 💭💗

That’s one of the ideas at the heart of I’m Just a Girl, and something we loved exploring with Jess Bacon last week.

A ‘second girlhood’ might look like:

📚 Getting lost in books just because you can
🎨 Making time for creativity and play
💗 Reconnecting with the things that make you feel like you
✨ Letting go of the idea that growing up means leaving all of that behind

We loved hearing everyone’s thoughts and sharing an evening full of conversation, connection and a little bit of reflection.

What a very special evening with Jess Bacon 💗📚

We had such a lovely time at our recent in-person author event with Jess, celebrating her debut book I’m Just a Girl.

We chatted about what inspired the book, the complicated relationship we can have with girlhood and womanhood, and the idea of a ‘second girlhood’ ... finding our way back to the joy, creativity and freedom we might have left behind along the way.

It was so special to create a space where we could come together, connect and share our own thoughts and experiences around a subject that feels so relevant to so many of us 💗

Thank you to Jess for joining us and to everyone who came along and made the evening so special. We loved spending the evening with you all ✨

An evening filled with books, brilliant conversations, meeting the wonderful Lucy Jane Wood, and sharing it all with a room full of fellow book lovers 🤍

There’s something so special about seeing our community come together in person, whether you’re chatting before the event, getting your book signed, or making a new bookish friend along the way 🫶

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a memorable first author event. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening, and this is only the beginning.

From a delightful Q&A where we got to dive into the world of Uncharmed, enjoying book signings, snapping photos together, and even surprising one lucky guest with a signed proof... it was such a special night from start to finish 📖

To everyone who joined us, thank you for making our very first in-person author event so memorable. Seeing so many book lovers come together to celebrate stories, meet a favourite author and share the evening with one another reminded us exactly why we started Chapter 25 🫶

A huge thank you to Lucy Jane Wood for spending the evening with us, and to everyone who helped make it happen.
