Look at this! My favorite Philodendron billietiae variegated has grown so much in just one month since coming out of tissue culture. 👏👏👏
There’s something so rewarding about raising a plant from scratch like this. I can’t wait to see how big it gets!

The first three photos are of the plant recently. The photo in the bag shows how it arrived on March 18th, and the last photo is from March 25th, right when I took it out of the bag.

TC Plant Acclimation Guide 🌿
Ready to bring your Tissue Culture (TC) plant to life? Here is a step-by-step guide to acclimation. Save this post for your next plant project!
1️⃣ Unpack: Carefully remove the delicate TC plant from its agar bag.
2️⃣ First Wash: Gently rinse the roots with lukewarm water to remove all the agar.
3️⃣ Prune: Use sterilized tools to cut away extra-long roots or damaged leaves.
4️⃣ Sanitize: Soak the entire plant in a sanitation solution for 5 minutes.
5️⃣ Dry: Place the cleaned plant on a paper towel to air dry.
6️⃣ Prep Pot: Fill your chosen pot with a pre-moistened mix of 50% peat moss and 50% perlite.
7️⃣ Plant: Set the plant in the pot and gently cover the roots with more soil mix.
8️⃣ Seal: Cover with a clear dome to create a high-humidity, sealed environment.
9️⃣ Wait: Place under a grow light and observe for several weeks.
🔟 Pot Choice: This time, I used a specialized propagation pot with a humidity dome.

Tips for Success:
• Why Lukewarm Water? (Step 2): Cold water can shock delicate young roots. Lukewarm water is gentle and ensures the best start for your plant.
The Best Soak (Step 4): Use a diluted disinfectant solution, such as diluted hydrogen peroxide.
• Perfect for Aroids (Step 6): This 50:50 peat moss/perlite mix provides excellent aeration while maintaining essential moisture, making it ideal for Monstera or Philodendron TC plants.

Repot your Thai Monstera when you see roots circling inside the pot or emerging from the drainage holes. 🌱
The best time is spring to early summer, when warm temperatures and longer days help it recover quickly.

Use a fresh, well-draining mix, a blend of chunky orchid bark, perlite, and quality potting soil, and always choose a pot with drainage holes.
Gently loosen only the congested roots, keeping as much healthy root mass intact as possible to reduce transplant shock.
