Buddhist concept of happiness
Take a look at the photo below. This is a Mandala - a sacred schematic image that is used in Buddhist rituals.
Creating a Mandala is a long process with precise geometric calculations. This is not done by one person, but by a whole group of monks.
It all starts with the coloring of the sand. Bit by bit, with precision. It is then carefully laid down for days on end, adhering to intricate designs, painstaking work that takes weeks to complete.
During the day they create a work of art. And when the Mandala is ready, try to guess what happens next.
The assumption that the Mandala is kept is incorrect. They do not store it and do not even seek to demonstrate it, but destroy it. Hands, feet - they simply turn a well-thought-out masterpiece into dust.
They do this to remind themselves that nothing in the universe is permanent.
The status you earn over the years.
The money you are trying to get.
Impressions that you are so drawn to.
Success, which tried to achieve with hard work.
Comfort for which family love and joy are sacrificed.
Everything will eventually disappear. And with the realization of this fact, it is not depression and melancholy that breaks into a person’s life, but prosperity and happiness. The mental shackles of attachment to the temporal disappear. And then - psychological freedom, according to Buddhist teachings.
