What an amazing show of commitment and community spirit to take on such an inspiring fundraiser ! I wish Olly the best of luck , determination and support in completing this golfing challenge and hits his fundraising donation target !!! This summer, local legend OllySpry is taking on a golf challenge like no other. Teeing off at sunrise and playing all the way to sunset to raise funds for Cancer Research UK Jersey.

Cancer remains the leading cause of death in Jersey.

Each year, over 1,000 people are diagnosed and Jersey has higher-than-average rates of breast, melanoma, and head & neck cancers.

That’s why every donation stays local helping fund research, prevention, and vital support right here on the island.

In “Life Can Be in Full Color but Still Be Alone in the Dark,” I delve into the paradox of experiencing life’s vibrancy while feeling the weight of solitude. This digital art series is an exploration of the profound complexity of human emotions, reflecting the juxtaposition between external vibrancy and internal darkness.

The first piece in the series employs a palette of soft pastel hues, enveloping the solitary figure in a gentle, dreamlike atmosphere. The fragmented brushstrokes create an ethereal quality, suggesting a serene yet poignant introspection. The delicate colors convey a sense of quiet melancholy, representing moments of introspective solitude where the world outside feels both beautiful and distant.

In stark contrast, the second piece bursts with intense oranges and reds against deep blues and greens, conveying a sense of inner turmoil and passionate isolation. It is a reminder that while colors may paint our world, the shadows within us are uniquely personal.

This series is a testament to the complexity of the human psyche, where beauty and darkness coexist in a delicate balance.

In a whimsical forest, lived a micro mini robot named Tw***ie. With shiny pink and blue buttons, and bright searchlight eyes, Tw***ie loved nature more than anything. Each day, Tw***ie explored the woods, greeting every woodland creature and bug with a cheerful beep and metallic creak.

One sunny morning, Tw***ie met a squirrel named Nutty, who was upset because he lost his favorite acorn. Tw***ie , with a quirky spin and a heartfelt determination, decided to help. Using its bright lights, Tw***ie searched every nook and cranny, even making friends with a ladybug named Dot along the way.

Finally, they found the acorn hidden under a pile of colorful leaves. Nutty squeaked with joy and hugged Tw***ie tightly. Tw***ie’s circuits buzzed with happiness.

🌞 Protect Your Skin, Protect Your Future 🌞

May is Melanoma Awareness Month! Did you know that about 85% of melanomas in the UK are caused by too much ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or tanning beds?

Melanoma is the 5th most common cancer in the UK, and the number of cases is rising. It’s crucial to be aware of the risks and take steps to protect yourself.

🛡️ Check. Protect. Prevent. Your skin matters!

Here are 5 tips to protect yourself in the sun:

Use Sunscreen: Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30, and reapply every 2 hours.

Seek Shade: Stay in the shade, especially during the midday hours (10 AM to 4 PM).

Wear Protective Clothing: Cover your skin with long sleeves, hats, and sunglasses.

Avoid Tanning Beds: They emit harmful UV radiation that increases your risk of melanoma.

Regular Skin Checks: Examine your skin regularly for any new or changing moles or spots, and visit a dermatologist annually.
