What is Real Bread?
It’s additive-free.
That’s it. Real Bread for all.

Our universally-accessible definition of bread is simply: made without additives. It can be flatbread or raised using baker’s yeast or a sourdough starter culture.

No additives means no so-called processing aids or chemical leavening, so no baking powder/soda.
It can be gluten-free, as long as there’s no xanthan gum or other additives.

So simple but (depending whose figures you believe) might rule out around 95% of what is sold as 'bread' in Britain. Which is why we knead the Real Bread Campaign.

We would like to thank ALL of our amazing, loyal, customers for all your support and custom during this year.

Hopefully 2021 will be a different year where we can get back to some normality, not until past Easter I suspect though 🥲.

In the meantime the Country market is open today 10am to 1pm and the Christmas Market tomorrow 10am to 2pm. We will then take a few weeks break and hopefully, lockdown rules permitted, reopen towards the end of January. Look out for social media posts for further information.
