We wouldn’t normally comment on other publisher’s work - but when we spotted this range we knew they were designed to spark a conversation, and we’re so here for that.

Father’s Day is hard for a lot of people - we know that. There are so many dads who haven’t showed up the way they should have. And we’re all for breaking taboos and challenging the cliché of how a dad looks. But there’s a difference between acknowledging pain and making light of it. And if you do need to have that conversation with your dad, there are gentler ways in.

We’ll be honest - we don’t shout loudly about our Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards.

We know how many of you find these days really hard. The empty chair. The card aisle you can’t walk down. The dad who was never quite what you needed him to be.

We see you. We’re not going to pretend these times are easy for everyone.

But.

For those of you who have a dad worth celebrating - a dad who showed up, who cried at the right moments, who said “I love you” first, who didn’t need to be the loudest in the room to be the strongest - this one’s for him.

Our card isn’t about muscle or bravado or keeping it all together.

It’s for the dad who breaks the mould. The one who proved that being a man can look like softness, and patience, and turning up even when it’s hard.

That you don’t have to be a cliche to be a man worth celebrating.

Unfortunately I couldn’t make it with him this year - childcare was an option of this or a couple of nights in Ibiza and I’m pretty sure you can guess which one we went with. 🌴🪩

I’m a finalist in the - The Enterprise Vision Awards - the UK’s largest celebration of women in business. 🪩

LoveLossDiscoballs has been shortlisted for Best New Business, and as a female founder, being recognised in this space means everything.

Warren and I started LLDB because we believed grief and hard times deserved better greeting cards. Cards that named the thing. Cards that didn’t look away. Cards that brought colour and hope. And somehow, that idea turned into a real, growing business - one that’s finding its way onto shelves, into homes, and into the hands of people who really need it.

Turns out other people believed it too.

To be recognised as a female founder doing something that genuinely makes a difference is just the most amazing feeling, I’m over the moon! And a massive congratulations to all of the other finalists too. 💜🪩

Life has been pretty busy lately and we’ve been consciously taking more time to stop and appreciate it all - which has meant that we’ve gone a little quiet on here, and that’s definitely ok. 💜✨

Last week we went to the most beautiful Hindu wedding that sent us home thinking about what love really means - with colour and ritual and community and everything we can get wrong about love and grief. Rachel building her grief coaching business speaking at the North West Su***de Prevention Conference - sharing her story in a room full of people doing this vital work. Warren deep in design and planning mode. Both of us building and planning and working hard towards our purpose of spreading colour, connection, love and hope 💫

The grid might have gone quiet but we definitely didn’t.

And now PG Live is coming - it’s our second time at the show. If you’re going to be there, come and find us at stand 172. We’ll be the ones with the disco balls. 🪩
