a day late

2025 knocked me off my feet — literally unable to walk, the uncertainty about my future and my business. Hospitals, tests and medications that made me loopy.

But with the support and help of incredible friends and my husband, my chocolate journey didn’t end and we even attended a few big events with chocolate in Balmoral, Inverness and Glasgow.

It was also the year I turned 50 and marked 30 years of marriage.

I am leaving behind fear and self doubt or at least slowly and deliberately loosening my grip on it.

Why Chocolate?

When I fell in love with chocolate, I had no idea how temperamental and dramatic it could be. A wet and humid day and chocolate throws a full-on tantrum. A hot day and it has a meltdown like it’s having an emotional breakdown.

Honestly, chocolate wants to be babied, and I’m here for it—even if it’s high-maintenance!" 🍫 If you know me, you’ll know I love a challenge.

Who am I?

My name is Karuna, originally from South Africa, but I moved to Scotland when I was 14. I’ve fallen in love with life here, even if the rain does seem to have a permanent residence.

I now call the village of Lesmahagow home, where I live with my husband and our two mischievous bunnies who, despite their size, definitely rule with an iron paw.

My passion for chocolate started when I was a wedding cake decorator and tasked with making a high heel shoe, and that was when I fell in love with chocolate

I love reading, experimenting in the kitchen, designing costumes and spending time with my bunnies.
