Lots of buzz about Suzannah in the shop next weekend. It’s a perfect activity to do solo or bring along someone special to share the experience

“That thing you do with the beads.” Yes. Fair enough.

Why would anyone understand Life Beading unless they’d experienced it?

So here are a few things it’s not.

- It’s not jewellery making - though you do walk away with a bracelet.

- It’s not “woo woo” - though if by woo woo you mean anything that makes you reflect on the stuff that really matters in your life, then woo woo it gladly is.

- It’s not craft. Anyone who knows me knows I’m in awe of clever people who can actually make things. I had to seek advice from a very kind and patient lady just to get the bracelet-making bit right.

Life Beading isn’t magic.

It’s what happens when we slow down long enough to let what really matters rise to the surface: memories that bring joy, the people and values we hold dear, the things we know about ourselves but somehow forget in the noise of everyday life.

And every Life Beading experience is a little different.

The one I’m running at Earthen Holistics grew out of something I’ve noticed more and more as I get older: how much happiness lives in very small things.

🌹The scent of a rose.
🌳The slurp of a wellie coming out of the mud - remember that?
🐈The feel of my cat’s fur.

So much of what psychology - and philosophy, for that matter - tells us about living well comes back to this: notice what is already here.

So on Saturday 22 August, at this lovely apothecary shop in Maws Craft Centre, you’ll choose:

💫A bead for what grounds you.
💫A bead for what brightens you.
💫A bead for what lifts you.

And then a fourth bead from the shop itself - scented for the hour itself.

A tiny anchor back to the moment when you stopped, went inwards, and remembered what brings you joy.

Then you thread them together - which is the easy bit - and go home wearing something whose meaning is known only to you.

If you’ve been meaning to stop for a while, this is a decent excuse.

Nicolle from 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑾𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝑪𝒐 sent me some of her digestive blend loose tea to try and I can safely say that I love it. I was in the middle of a flare up and a pot of this beauty has definitely set me straight.
