💡 Sometimes an MOT lighting failure isn’t as simple as changing a bulb…

This MINI F55 came to us from another local garage after failing its MOT with the driver’s side headlight completely out.

This particular MINI uses a full LED headlight, so there’s no conventional bulb to simply replace.

A diagnostic and a few electrical checks led us to the LED control module mounted underneath the headlight. Once removed and opened up, the problem was pretty obvious — the PCB had burnt out, leaving visible burn marks on both the board and casing. 🔥

Luckily BMW MINI keep these modules on the shelf, so we sourced a replacement the following day, fitted it and correctly coded/programmed it to the vehicle.

Full LED headlight back up and running. ✅

Yesterday we had this 2021 Fiat 500e in for a Thinkware Q200 front and rear dash cam installation.

✨ Future-proofing a stunning low-mileage Bentley Continental GTC.

This 2016 Mk2 Bentley was with us yesterday after suffering from a boot-loop issue with the factory infotainment system.

The unit was sent away for repair, and while it was being sorted the customer decided it was the perfect opportunity to add wireless Apple CarPlay at the same time.

Now back together, the original system is working as it should, but with modern wireless connectivity for maps, music, calls and messages. 📱👌

A subtle upgrade that keeps the original Bentley interior looking exactly as it should, while bringing the technology right up to date.

📱 Bringing modern connectivity to another Porsche 981…

This Porsche Boxster 981 was in the workshop today for one of our wireless Apple CarPlay retrofits, using our favourite tried-and-tested kit from Integrated Automotive.

This particular car has the entry-level CDR31 system, with the lower-resolution display and fairly basic factory connectivity — Bluetooth calls, but no Bluetooth audio streaming.

Around 2 hours later and it now has wireless Apple CarPlay integrated into the original system, giving the customer easy access to Spotify, navigation, calls, messages and more while retaining the factory look. 👌

A simple upgrade that makes a big difference to using the car every day.

⚡ Well… that brought the workshop to an early finish!

Unfortunately, we had to close a little earlier than planned today after losing power to the workshop.

Turns out it wasn’t something as simple as a fuse either… the digging team has now been called in to find the fault and restore power to both our unit and next door. 🫣

Hopefully everything will be back up and running tomorrow, but there may be a few delays while we get ourselves caught back up.

Apologies to anyone affected — we’ll keep you updated!

An R34 GT-R in the workshop is always a good day! 🇯🇵🔥

This Nissan Skyline GT-R came to us for a complete refresh of its aftermarket audio system.

We removed the ageing Kenwood radio and replaced it with a Pioneer DA77, along with a TV tuner at the customer’s request.

In the boot, the JL Audio W6 had sadly reached the end of its life, with the surround beginning to perish. This was replaced with a Hertz Mille Pro 10-inch subwoofer.

The existing amplifier wiring was sketchy, to say the least… So we stripped it back, completely rewired it, secured everything properly and protected the new cabling inside conduit.

While working through the car, we also discovered a tracker that wasn’t particularly well hidden. That has now been relocated somewhere far more discreet—and no, we won’t be showing where! 👀

A much cleaner, safer and more reliable installation, with modern entertainment and plenty of bass—all while keeping this Japanese icon looking right.

🇿🇦 A little bit of South Africa in the workshop today…

This 1982 Mercedes 280E joined us today for a replacement radio installation, bringing a little more modern usability while keeping things sympathetic to the character of the car.

And we’re not finished with this one yet…

It’s already booked back in next week for an additional immobiliser to add some modern security to this 44-year-old Mercedes. 🔐

Always nice having something a little different in the workshop. 👌
