✨ New arrivals......

Another busy day here at Holytown Antiques stocking up on lots of lovely items. This little lot has been dropped at the shop with more arriving this week.

I don't have measurements yet and it has still to be cleaned and polished but it will all be ready in the next couple of days.

If anything catches your eye drop me a message and I will get the details over to you once I have everything organised.

Viewings are available by appointment Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday if you want to pop out to have a look at anything.

✨ Victorian kneehole desk ✨

Victorian mahogany pedestal desk with a classic, well-proportioned design and plenty of useful storage. With its warm rich tone, rounded corners and traditional brass ring handles, this is a piece that brings both character and practicality to a room.

The desk features a generous top above a central drawer, flanked by two banks of drawers, giving it the look and feel of a traditional pedestal desk. It would work beautifully in a study, home office, bedroom or hallway, and could equally be used as a writing desk, laptop desk or dressing table.

The brass handles and keyholes with working locks and key (with the exception of one drawer) add to its timeless appeal, while the drawers offer good everyday storage for paperwork, stationery or household items. The interior drawer construction also shows traditional detailing, adding to the overall charm of the piece.

A stylish and useful piece with classic lines that would sit comfortably in both traditional and more eclectic interiors ~ £165.00

A lovely little three-legged milking stool with a wonderfully decorative hand-worked top.

The circular seat is decorated with an intricate incised and pyrographic floral design, with trailing leaves and flowers picked out against a densely textured background. The warm golden tones of the decoration contrast beautifully with the dark-stained edge and legs, giving the piece a distinctive folk-art feel.

Raised on three simple splayed legs, it has an appealing handmade quality and plenty of character. Its smaller proportions make it particularly versatile — ideal as a plant stand, low occasional stool or decorative display piece, and equally attractive simply placed beside a chair or within a collection of vintage furniture ~ £35.00

✨ Victorian mahogany chiffonier ✨

A well-proportioned Victorian mahogany chiffonier dating from the mid-19th century, combining useful storage with a decorative raised back and shelf.

The upper section is finished with a shaped and scroll-carved crest, with a narrow shelf carried on turned supports above the main surface. Below sits a full-width drawer, with a pair of cupboard doors beneath opening to shelved storage. The panelled doors show attractive figuring, while the overall form is lifted by the carved side brackets, bun feet and the strong outline of the back.

This is a practical antique piece with a good amount of visual presence without taking up too much floor space. It would work well in a hallway, dining room, sitting room or kitchen, either as a side cabinet, occasional storage piece or decorative server ~ £195.00

A striking vintage oval wall mirror with an elaborate gilt frame, combining generous proportions with beautifully detailed decoration.

The frame features an openwork scrolling foliate design running around the entire outer edge, with further moulded detail bordering the mirror plate.

Its horizontal oval shape makes it particularly versatile. It would sit beautifully above a console table, sideboard or fireplace, while also working well as a feature mirror in a hallway, bedroom or living room ~ £40.00

Please note ~ there is a small section of the frame missing, measuring around 1cm. Please see the picture. It isn't very noticeable and does not detract from the overall all look of the mirror.

Writing bureau with warm colour, useful storage and a beautifully figured fall front, daring to around 1920's / 1930's

The sloping front is arranged with quartered oak veneers, creating an attractive geometric pattern. It opens to form a practical writing surface, making this a useful piece for correspondence, paperwork or laptop use while remaining compact when closed.

Below are three full-width drawers, each fitted with simple geometric wooden handles and individual keyholes. The bureau stands on elegant cabriole legs ending in carved ball-and-claw feet, giving it a strong Georgian and Chippendale Revival character. Comes with working locks and key.

A versatile piece that would work well in a living room, bedroom, hallway or home office. Its relatively compact footprint makes it particularly suitable where a permanent full-sized desk would take up too much space ~ £80.00

A early 20th century oak dresser with a rich, dark finish and an appealing mix of practical storage and decorative display space.

The upper section features a panelled back with two open shelves, finished with a gently shaped cornice. Below, the broad serving surface sits above two drawers, each decorated with a repeating Gothic-style arched motif and fitted with turned wooden handles.

The lower cupboard is enclosed by two panelled doors with carved fan and foliate detailing, complemented by decorative metal hinges and a simple wooden latch. Inside, a full-width shelf provides useful storage for tableware, linens or larger household items.

Its compact proportions make it easier to place. It would work particularly well in a kitchen or dining room, but could also make an attractive storage piece in a hallway or living space ~ £165.00
