When the stars align and you end up making your biggest Hornsea purchase to date ✨
I often talk about the importance of community and conversation when you run a small business. You learn so much from talking to your customers and other traders - what people like, why they like it, good events, good suppliers - plus those friendly chats and general market camaraderie mean so much when you spend a large chunk of the week working alone!
I often receive emails from customers that have spotted Hornsea or Tremar pottery for sale whilst out and about - and the vintage dealers I’m lucky enough to call friends will put items aside for me - which is incredibly thoughtful, and helps no end when you’re trying to source vintage pottery in such large quantities.
When Specificity UK tagged me in one of Wendy and Darren Coleman’s posts a couple of weeks back, I nearly spontaneously combusted with excitement! Wendy had just made an 8hr round trip to collect a VAST amount of Hornsea pottery (literally the stuff of dreams!) and very kindly agreed to sell me all the egg cups, spice pots, vinegar jugs and sugar bowls. This time last week she delivered it all - every item perfectly packaged, and in pristine condition.
So a great big THANK YOU to Nina and Wendy for thinking of me, and working with me. You are both LEGENDS! And let this post be a reminder of the importance of friendships and connections 🤍
