When my lovely Mum retired in July, her last assembly was to encourage the children to always be the best that they can be. She drew inspiration from a village folk tale about a cuckoo being fenced in and held captive... she asked me to frame some of her words to gift to the school to remind them to be like the cuckoo✨

Last month, my lovely Mum retired from her role as Head Teacher. She loved being a teacher, and always knew she wanted to return to the school she attended as a child. 20 years ago her dreams came true and she was appointed as the deputy head at Gotham Primary. Then 2 years later, she was given the headship! As she retired, a holly tree was planted outside the school entrance and she asked me if I would use my pyrography tool to make a wooden plaque. Gotham was lucky to have you, Mum. Love you ###
