🕵️♂️ An Unexpected Internet Mystery (Help Me Solve It!)
For the past 7 days, my website has been repeatedly suggested by Google to answer a question… for one very determined, very frustrated human somewhere on the internet.
How do I know?
Because I keep seeing the same incredibly specific search query over and over again, long, detailed, and clearly typed in desperation.
The most google version of the query is:
“dos shareware game published november early 1990s single-player three credits two same surname”
Somewhere out there is a poor soul on a noble quest to rediscover a long-lost MS-DOS shareware game, and Google keeps pointing them almost to the answer… but not quite. And honestly? I can’t live with that.
So I’ve decided to turn this into a community-powered rescue mission.
If you:
Played obscure DOS shareware games in the early 90s
Remember reading credits screens obsessively
Recognise anything about “three credits” or “two developers with the same surname”
Or just enjoy internet archaeology
👉 Please comment with any ideas, guesses, or wild theories.
I don’t currently have a way to ask this mystery person follow-up questions, but here’s the fun part:
I’m going to create a dedicated page just for this search, so that one day soon, this person might Google the same phrase… and finally find their answer waiting for them.
And imagine how hilarious it’ll be if they realise an entire behind-the-scenes quest unfolded on their behalf 😆
Let’s solve this.
For justice.
For nostalgia.
For that one exhausted Googler who refuses to give up.
