Ever walked into your living room and felt like something was just slightly off, even though you can't put your finger on it? ✨

Nine times out of ten, the culprit is the rug.

Here are the three mistakes we see all the time:

→ Going too small. A rug stranded under the coffee table makes the whole room feel shrunken.
→ Floating the furniture, with nothing actually touching the rug.
→ Smooth-on-smooth, where a flat woven rug disappears under a fabric sofa.

The fixes are wonderfully simple. Size up so at least the front legs of your sofa and chairs sit on the rug. Anchor your seating arrangement so everything feels connected. And play with texture, a chunky wool or shaggy pile against a smooth sofa instantly adds warmth and depth.
