Is your fridge working harder than it needs to this summer?

When the weather heats up, your fridge has to work much harder to keep everything cool. A little maintenance can help it run more efficiently, keep food fresher and may even reduce energy use.

Here are a few simple tips:

✔ Make sure there’s enough space around your fridge for heat to escape – avoid pushing it tightly against walls or into enclosed spaces.
✔ Vacuum the back and underneath occasionally to remove dust that can restrict airflow.
✔ Keep the door seals clean and check they’re in good condition.
✔ If you spot mould or mildew on the seals, it could mean warm air is getting into the fridge, making it work harder to maintain the correct temperature.
✔ Try not to leave the door open for longer than necessary, especially on hot days.

If your fridge still isn’t keeping food as cold as it should, it may be time for an upgrade. Our team is always happy to help you find the right model for your home.

A little something different at Wellingtons Kitchens recently.

We welcomed Lesley Anne Holloway, star of The Great British Bake Off, to our Erith showroom for a full day of Victoria Sponge Perfection.

Our working showroom kitchen was put through its paces as guests baked from scratch, made jam, picked up plenty of Lesley’s tips and tricks and, of course, enjoyed lots of tea, cake and conversation along the way.

A huge thank you to Lesley and everyone who joined us for such a brilliant day. We loved seeing our kitchen being used exactly as it should be.

We’re incredibly proud of our delivery team at Wellingtons, and these photos are a great example of why.

Sometimes delivering a new appliance isn’t as simple as getting it from the van to the door. When access is tricky or an appliance needs to fit into a particularly challenging space, our team takes the time and care needed to find a solution.

Ever wondered what the numbers on a fridge temperature dial actually mean.

On many fridge models, settings like 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are not Celsius temperatures. Instead, they control how hard the fridge works to reach a lower temperature.

We explain the difference between a linear temperature control and a fridge with exact Celsius temperature settings, plus why the recommended setting is usually around 3 and when you might need to adjust it.
