Topped with rose-flavoured buttercream in mixed tones and sprinkled with pistachio. These flavours instantly remind me of the Middle East, subtle, floral, nutty and never rushed. A combination I’ll always come back to.

Ok it may not win any beauty contests… but this sun dried tomato, olive & chilli Portuguese bread is SO good. And the house smells amazing!

Crispy crust, soft middle, salty olives, little kick of chilli
and it’s ridiculously easy to make in the Thermomix.

Freshly baked soft pretzels this morning 🥨

Golden on the outside, fluffy and warm inside, finished with sesame seeds.

These homemade pretzels take me straight back to winters in St Albans when I was a child. There used to be a German pretzel stall that popped up every winter and I would queue with my mum every time we were in town for a warm pretzel.

Now my kids are asking about bakes from around the world and where different breads and pastries come from. Looks like this might be the start of baking our way through childhood food memories and travel inspired bakes 🌍
