Know what you’re putting in and on your body

A simple breakfast order turned into an important reminder for us this week.

Lisa Marie ordered food for her children because she believed it was made with real maple syrup. But after tasting it, something didn’t seem right.

When she asked about it, she was reassured that it was definitely maple syrup. Still unsure, she asked to see the bottle and checked the ingredients for herself.

It wasn’t maple syrup at all.

It was disappointing, but it reinforced something we feel very strongly about at The Tallow Shed.

Knowing exactly what you’re putting in your body is important.

And knowing exactly what you’re putting on your body matters just as much.

OK… NOW WHAT’S IN ANNA’S HOLIDAY BAG?

Lisa Marie showed you hers… so it’s only fair I show you mine. 😜

And yes, not only am I a last minute packer im also the sort of person who goes on holiday with half of The Tallow Shed in her bag.

But hear me out…

Children coming to me with approximately 746 different skin complaints…

I like to be prepared.

So these are the Tallow Shed products that have earned their precious bit of suitcase space.

I want something to properly cleanse my skin at the end of a hot, suncream-filled day, something rich and nourishing when my skin feels dry, and a few of our little multi-tasking favourites for everything else holiday life throws at us.

Our MINIS are a favourite of mine that we’ve created for exactly this reason.

They’re little enough to chuck in your hand luggage or beach bag, but you still get the same beautiful formulas as our full-size products.

Basically… less room for skincare = more room for holiday clothes I definitely won’t wear. 😂

We’re off on our summer holidays!

The Tallow Shed girls are taking a little summer break

From 8th–17th August, we’ll be swapping the tallow pots, labels and packing boxes for sunshine, sea and some much-needed time with our families.

But our online shop is staying OPEN!

You can continue to place your orders as normal while we’re away — just please bear with us, as all orders placed during this time will be lovingly packed and dispatched as soon as we return from 17th August.

As a small business, everything you order passes through our hands — from making and whipping our products to filling jars, labelling and packing your parcels. So when we take a break, The Tallow Shed takes a little break too!

Thank you so much for your patience and, as always, for choosing to shop small and support what we do.

We’ll be back refreshed, recharged and ready to get those tallow pots whipping again!

What better time to map out our socials for the next month than at 30,000 feet and with champagne? When you own your own business you’re always switched on and working, but making it fun along the way.
