⭐️ A LITTLE SOMETHING TO CHASE AWAY THOSE POST-SHOW BLUES… ⭐️

We’re absolutely delighted to share another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review for Helen Shapiro – Walkin’ Back — this time from the Derek Awards!

We actually had the pleasure of meeting Derek on Saturday night, and he explained how their awards work. The Derek Awards have been running for 16 years, with around 400 anonymous assessors covering productions across the UK.

Derek told us that Walkin’ Back scored very highly with his assessors, which is fantastic to hear.

At the Edinburgh Fringe, the Derek Awards specialise in “pull quote” style reviews, giving performers and productions a great quote they can use on posters, flyers and future marketing.

And this is the quote they gave us…

🎭 A HUGE THANK YOU TO GREENSIDE ❤️

As we look back on our Edinburgh Fringe run of Helen Shapiro – Walkin’ Back, we wanted to take a moment to say a very special thank you to everyone at Greenside Venues.

Putting on a show at the Fringe is a huge undertaking, and there is an enormous amount of work that happens behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly. From the venue team and technical staff to the front-of-house team and everyone working behind the scenes, we truly appreciate everything you did to help us bring our production to the stage.

From the moment we arrived, the welcome we received was fantastic. Everyone was friendly, helpful and incredibly supportive, and it made such a difference to our whole experience.

To everyone at Greenside — thank you for looking after us, supporting our show and helping make our Fringe experience so memorable.

🎭 THAT’S A WRAP ON THE 2026 EDINBURGH FRINGE! ❤️

Last night we performed our final show of this year’s Fringe run of Helen Shapiro – Walkin’ Back, and what an incredible journey it has been.

We’re leaving the Fringe feeling so incredibly happy, proud and, above all, grateful. Watching this wonderful cast bring the story of Helen Shapiro to life night after night has been something very special, and we genuinely couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. Their talent, dedication, passion, commitment and energy throughout the run has been incredible. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to Edinburgh and to everyone who came along to see the show. To everyone who bought a ticket, shared our posts, recommended us to friends, commented, liked, sent messages, gave us feedback and supported us throughout the run — we genuinely appreciate every single bit of it.

The encouragement and warmth we’ve received from audiences has been incredible. Seeing people laughing, singing along, reminiscing and leaving the theatre with a smile has made all the hard work worthwhile.

We’ve still got a few photos and videos from the run that we’ll be sharing over the next few days, so keep an eye on our page. There are plenty of special moments we want to look back on and share with you.

But for now, we just want to say thank you. To our amazing cast, crew, production team, supporters and audiences — you’ve all played a part in making this year’s Fringe so memorable.

And to our incredible cast… we are SO proud of you. ❤️🎭

Here’s Lily B Martin performing “Walkin’ Back to Happiness” in the role of Helen Shapiro, alongside the incredible vocals and talent of our fantastic young cast.

And what a song to perform! Originally released in 1961, “Walkin’ Back to Happiness” became a UK No.1 for three weeks and went on to sell more than a million copies. It became Helen’s signature song and one of the defining hits of her career.
