Meet the author - A Little Snapshot Of My Family And Me - It feels a little surreal writing this, but for those of you who wish to know more about me, please feel free to read on . . .
Beautiful Yorkshire is where I live with my hubby and best friend Michael. Meeting thirty eight years ago at the tender age of sixteen, we have been husband and wife for thrity four years now and counting!!!
We love travel both in the UK in our campervan and abroad. We love festivals, concerts, the theatre and we just love any kind of water based activities. Open water swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding. We swam Loch Ness in 2022 as part of a family relay team, which is one of our proudest moments.
I’m a very lucky mum of two grown up children, and so far I have been blessed with two beautiful grandchildren Isabella and Zack who have been my total inspiration for writing. We also have another two companions, however these are of the little white furry variety and are called Barney and Millie.
My worklife was the corporate world up until 2014, at which point I decided to have a change of direction and became a self employed graphic designer.
I now design and sell bespoke personalised greetings cards and stationery all over the world. Even though the business is flourishing, I still had a desire to add more to my portfolio. So when grandchildren came into my world, who are both obsessed with picture story books, it didn’t take long to realise what my next step was going to be.
I have written three childrens books so far, two of which will be launched in the autumn of 2024. The third book is already written and we are due to start on the illustrations in a couple of months time . .
To say I’m an author, doesn’t feel real right now, but I honestly cannot wait to hold the books in my hand. I truly hope you and your little ones enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing and publishing them.
In the meantime, whether at home or on location in the countryside in our campervan
I will carry on writing . . .
