Is it time we welcomed all of our new followers? We're nearly at 7k already on here so we think it's only right to tell you a little bit about ourselves!
We are Jamie (left) and Scott (right) and unfortunately, neither of us are as chiseled or as strong jawed as our caricatures are depicting here (sorry ladies π€£).
We met through our other existing businesses. Some of you will already know Scott through Death By Fudge, a bakery in Rossington just over the road from Steak Bite, and others might know Jamie through his local delivery platform Shocal Doncaster, which conveniently handles all of DBF's logistical side as well as many other top small, local and independent businesses across Doncaster.
When Death By Fudge outgrew and moved from their little shop in Rossington to their bigger one just over the road, they were leaving behind a great little spot and they knew they had what it took to introduce something else just as exciting and just as mouth watering to the town.
In Scott's mind there was only one person he knew he wanted to approach to go on this journey with and that was Jamie.
Jamie handles the day to day operations of Steak Bite. He's the numbers guy, and makes everything tick behind the scenes. On top of that you'll find him on the grill, on the fryer and expediting orders when we are actually open! Scott's main focus still lies with DBF but he handles all social media, customer interaction, product development and can be seen generally loitering around in the background during opening hours π€£
Originally, Steak Bite was going to be something COMPLETELY different, but over time that idea developed and transformed into what we have today.
After also running Wolf Down Events and organising Street Food Events, our mission was simple. To bring the street food scene to a permanent spot that brings the same level of passion and unique flavours to the community whilst being something that's completely different to your conventional takeaways.
We have a really simple menu that can be customised to your hearts content. Steak Frites, Steak Subs, Steak Salad, Loaded Fries and Smash Burgers.
We've paired up with The Farm Shop Barnby Dun, just twenty minutes up the road to use the best locally sourced beef and steak and we have developed and make all of our signature sauces in house. Yes we serve the usuals such as ketchup, BBQ, garlic mayo etc but what you'll also find is something else that sets us apart. Our glorious Dirtbag Mayo, our beautifully creamy Bacon Blue Cheese Sauce and our Chilli Kissed Chimichurri. At what other takeaway will you find that?!
We employ local people and we are so proud of the team that we've put together. They're growing as a unit and they are smashing it week in week out and we couldn't ask for more from them.
Already it feels like we are outgrowing our space. We need a bigger grill... Another grill! A bigger fryer! The demand is insane!
We've had our first social media food reviewers in and the feedback we are getting from regulars is jaw dropping. There are some truly fantastic food establishments and vendors across Doncaster and to be mentioned alongside their names is really special to us.
As you can probably tell we're really passionate about this business and we're working on it every day to bring you the best possible experience. We've got a BIG plan for Steak Bite and this is the very beginning so if you want to share this journey with us, we're open Friday to Sunday 5-10pm.
As for the other business that was originally planned? You'll just have to wait and see what else we've got up our sleeves π
