Right...first steps into the world of painting.

Thanks for all the advice from everyone, best tip I received was from my Goddaughter Evie "use a paintbrush".
Got myself some proper paper, some acrylics, paintbrushes and palette knives. I then stumbled upon a photo taken by of Woolacombe (swipe) and used that for inspiration.

Was hard to step away from direct detailed replication which is what I'm used to...so purposely tried to be abstract and just go with the flow.
I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the outcome...maybe a bit dark?

Let me know what you think...including constructive criticism! Once I've got it framed I may do a New Years giveaway...if anyone would want it?!? 🤙🏼

Can finally share this custom piece I've been working on. This A2 print is a 30th birthday present for a lad who cycled 18,000 miles...AROUND THE WORLD!
So pleased with how it turned out, brief from his mates was to show the monstrous route alongside a few of the many memories created along the way...a custom illustration of his trusty steed (with mascot squirrel, obviously) adds the drawnbyshaun touch.

What do you guys think? Would love to do more large custom pieces like this 🤙🏼

DBS has taken a bit of a back seat to other things since Christmas (got a dog, been teaching him stuff).
