In the morning, it’s Fairy Houses for families, a lovely creative session where we’ll transform old books into magical little homes.

Then in the afternoon, it’s an adult book art session, where we’ll be making these wonderful Gnome Houses!

What an amazing start to the week.
We’ve had an absolute blast over the last couple of days bringing these two fantastic children’s illustrator/authors to Chorley Theatre packed with hundreds of people!

We met lots of excited children and gave out lots of books all thanks to our Penguin Children’s Grant to share the love of books in the National Year of Reading 2026.

Big thanks to everyone who came along, helped out and had fun! And a special thank you to the stars of the stage Francis Martin & Jen Carney

What an exciting start to the week we have starting tomorrow with Francis Martin (at Chorley Theatre before he takes his show to London’s Globe theatre)!
Then on Tuesday one of our absolute favourites 🎉Jen Carney will be on stage!

All tickets are FREE with a free book for each family. We’ve heard there are still a few seats left via Chorley Theatre’s website if you’re quick!

We’d like to send a HUGE thank you to Penguin Children’s publisher for awarding us the National Year of Reading 2026 grant, enabling us to offer these exciting events to Chorley Holiday & Food Clubs and families.

Popped to Ebb & Flo Bookshop today to drop off some fairy and gnome houses ahead of next month’s workshops!

Such a lovely bookshop, and I can’t wait to be back sharing my love of book art with you all!

We’ve got a family session in the morning, where we’ll be making magical fairy houses, followed by an adult session in the afternoon, where we’ll be creating our very own little gnome houses for the bookshelf!

It’s going to be a lovely day of bookish creativity!

2 FREE children’s author events at Chorley Theatre coming up this month!!! 🥳📚🌞

As part of our Penguin Children’s Grant award for the National Year of Reading we’re holding these 2 amazing events at Chorley Theatre.

Fantastic Illustrator Francis Martin and Illustrator/Author Jen Carney will be on stage having fun and sharing the love of books!

There’ll be a free book for every family too and you can have your book signed at the book signing afterwards. 📚✍️😎

We still have some seats available - just message us or email with your name, email, phone number and tell us which event you’d like to go to (you can choose both if you like) and how many children/adults you need a seat for.

This morning I’m breakfasting in Paris even if it’s only in my head and the book I’m reading!
Our bookseller Izzy has championed All That Remains by Virginie Grimaldi forever so I’m powering through it to catch up.
