No stall video today… mainly because I thought I’d save you all from watching me awkwardly walk around pointing at things saying, “I made this one too.” 😂

This really isn’t a post I wanted to have to make today.

Unfortunately, someone has taken a chess piece from one of the sets on my stall, leaving me with an incomplete chess set.

To whoever took it — it might only look like one small piece, but these sets take a lot of time, effort and money to make. It now means I either have to make and finish a replacement piece, or potentially sell the set incomplete and owe the buyer the missing piece afterwards.

Either way, it costs me more time and money.

I’m a small independent maker. Everything on my stall has been made, finished and prepared by me, and every sale genuinely matters.

If the piece was picked up accidentally, please just bring it back. No questions asked.

It’s incredibly disappointing that I even need to write this, but please remember that stealing from a small business isn’t taking from a big company — you’re taking directly from the person standing behind the stall.

MEET THE MAKER 👋

A few years ago, I never imagined I’d be standing behind my own stall, wearing Viking armour and selling things I’d made.

To be fair, I also never imagined I’d own quite this much wood.

I’m Gary, the maker behind Apple Blossom Creatives. What began with a laser and a few ideas has slowly grown into something I’m genuinely proud to put my name to.

For me, this is more than simply making and selling products. It’s about finding creativity I didn’t always realise I had, learning new skills, taking chances on myself and discovering that confidence doesn’t always come before you begin. Sometimes it turns up afterwards, once you’ve already made the terrifying decision to try.

Some of the designs are my own, while others are designs I’m licensed to use. But every item is engraved, finished, checked and prepared by me—usually with a lot of care, several test pieces and the occasional strongly worded conversation with the laser.

Every purchase, recommendation, shared post and conversation at my stall helps this little business grow. More importantly, it reminds me that something which once existed only as an idea has become real.

So thank you to everyone who has supported Apple Blossom Creatives so far. You’re helping me build more than a business—you’re helping me build something I once wasn’t sure I was capable of.

It turns out the bravest part isn’t wearing the armour. It’s having the confidence to show people what you’ve made.

The beard, however, provides excellent emotional support.

All set up at the Battle of Evesham — and I genuinely think this is my best stall yet! ⚔️🌸

After weeks of designing, making, painting and preparing, it’s brilliant to finally see everything together.

There are plenty of handcrafted and laser-engraved gifts on display, along with the first public appearance of my new gothic chess set, The Cathedral — Pugna Aeterna.

I’m incredibly proud of how the stall has come together, and it has already given me even more ideas for future products and chess sets.

It's been a few events since I have posted, and I have no idea why. Perhaps I've been busy or just forgot I have the content. Anyway, today I was at Bourton Farmers Market, and for me, it was a slow day. But I have to introduce Logan's little pop-up where he sold his little magnets. We worked on them together, and he decided what animals/fish and now fruit he wanted to have. Apparently, we will be having dinosaurs at the next one. But he did really well, and I am so proud of him and how he was.
