The algorithm gods will probably punish me for this post!

If you're a small business (or maybe a big business, I've no idea about that one!) all the advice tells you to jump through a hundred hoops to create a good post that gets shown to more than 3 people.

BUT I'm a millennial and honestly, I'm one person and not good with social media - I just wanted to show you these moth patches that I made and I'm really proud of so here's a heap of pretty photos.

Last week I designed a new moon moth, and now I've stitched out a few different colourways πŸ¦‹

I'm so happy with how its come out and how the different colour combinations have worked (I genuinely couldn't choose my favourite!) - it goes so well with the matching hawk moth too but of course now I'm going to have to go back and do the hawk moth in a similar variety of colours! Watch this space ✨

✨ ✨ Hi everyone, I've been working so hard in the background to make structured plans for my little business. It hasn't come easy, I'm very much an artist at heart β™₯️ But now its starting to come together, I'm so excited to start sharing more of my ideas and creations with you.

✨ ✨ Of course I've already been showing some of my clothes, both upcycling and handmade with you, as well as corresponding patch designs, but I have so many more wild ideas floating around my head that I can't wait to bring to life and share.

Small ways I make my products more eco friendly - that also make them more joyful and beautiful to own.

πŸƒ Upcycling, keeps clothes out of landfill and reduces the number of new clothes made, but it also makes for a diverse and unique wardrobe.

πŸƒ Hand-making small batches means less waste - less fabric being made, less water and chemicals used in the process. But it also means more curated materials, a more unique product, as well as the chance for me to pivot, improve and develop new ideas for you to enjoy.

πŸƒ Natural materials - I use vicose threads in my embroidery, cotton interfacing, natural fibres in my handmade clothes, and cotton threads to stitch them together. This means clothes that are more breathable and wear better; have a lovely texture and even the threads have more depth of colour.

✨ Small details are important and worthwhile✨

A little love letter to me stationery collection. These days I mostly talk about textile art - which I love! But I can't deny that my stationery collection has allowed me to get to the point where I can choose to follow my passion. That and my wonderful customers, I'm so lucky to have met so many lovely customers over the years, and I could not be more grateful for their support.

While my available collection may be somewhat reduced from what it was (focusing on best sellers and ones that my printer is more cooperative about), I don't plan to stop selling it any time soon. Hopefully I'll even make time to create some new designs soon!

I spent yesterday worrying about directions and decisions, I can't say it was much fun. So today I tried not to overthink it, took some photos of this moon moth patch and added some photoshopped artwork for a bit of fun. AND I managed to add it to my Etsy shop before the kids got home ✨

What do I actually do?

Well, quite a few things I suppose but ultimately I create artwork and then I create something from my artwork.

Does that explain it? No? I wasn't convinced either.

I made a new colourway for the hot water bottle cover, I absolutely love it!! (More than the pink???) But I only bought enough fabric for one πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ so here she is, the one and only!

❀️🌱🍁 It's cosy season πŸπŸƒβ€οΈ

This is possibly one of the hardest products to photograph that I've ever made with it's contrasting colours but also one of my absolute favourites ✨✨✨

πŸŽ€ This hot water bottle cover is now live in my shop, I only have enough fabric to make about 2 in this colorway though so it won't be there for long!! πŸŽ€

❀️ It's made with handscreen printed cotton which is quilted - also with cotton, and lined, so it's super soft and cosy but also really practical. ❀️

πŸπŸŒ±πŸƒ When I started using the embroidery machine I was very intentional about using environmentally friendly thread - the norm is to use polyester which we all know if bad, but you can also use viscose, made from plant cellulose in a closed loop system. And, for a win win, it also gives a more lustrous, shinier look to the embroidery.

What I didn't know - because manufacturers don't seem to want to tell you - is that the stabilisers used to support the fabric on the machine are also made with polyester. So I have now moved over to a cotton based stabiliser. And the scraps can go in my compost. Small, important steps. πŸƒπŸŒ±πŸ

In other news, this is me trying to share on the grid more....
