Good Book Club wrapped 🎁

2507 pages of thought-provoking indie goodness landed on subscribers’ doorsteps throughout this year.

We don’t have a metric for sentences underlined, pages dog eared, tears shed, or authors googled, which is of course the really interesting stuff.

But nonetheless, it felt right to look back over the truly diverse range of fiction we’ve chosen this year.

The Territory is a harsh and desolate landscape, the result of escalating temperatures and the collapse of society as we know it. Although Skalde was born there, she feels like an outsider. Through Skalde’s poetry, and a chance meeting, we come to understand the true nature of an insular community in a damaged world.

For us, Milk Teeth was an irresistible dark fairytale.

We were lucky enough to host Tone Schunnesson to hear more about Days & Days & Days.

We talked about chick lit vs lit fic, influencer culture, and the stronghold Beatnik writers have on teenage girls.

Taking a peer into the mind that created Bibbs was an awesome privilege, and if you haven’t read Days & Days & Days already, do yourself a favour and slingshot it to the top of your tbr. It’s translated by the brilliant Saskia Vogel so you know every sentence is 🤌
