🔥 Heatwave? What heatwave?

After a few gloriously sunny days, temperatures seem to have settled back into something a little more comfortable.

The good news? It’s perfect weather for a knitting project!

We’ve just had James C Brett 💥Boom💥 arrive in the shop.

Available in a range of rich, vibrant shades, Boom is ideal for beginners, quick projects, or simply relaxing with your knitting.

Heading off on holiday? Boom makes a great travel knit too — lightweight to pack, easy to carry around, and all you need is a pair of 10mm knitting needles.

To help us see how it works up, my mum has already knitted a sample scarf for the shop. Thanks Mum! ❤️ It’s now on display alongside the yarn so you can see the finished result before choosing your colour.

It may seem a little early to be thinking about scarves, but it’s never too early to learn to knit or get a head start on handmade gifts. 🎁🧶

New colours have just landed in the popular James C Brett Cotton Waves. Seems you’ve been loving this yarn. 🧶 💖

Soft cotton blends, beautiful summer shades and perfect for lightweight knitting and crochet projects.

We’ve also restocked James C Brett Big ‘Un’ and now have most colours.

These yarns sell quickly, so if you have a project in mind it’s a good time to stock up.

Friday Makes at Brecon Wool ✨

One of the loveliest parts of running the shop is seeing what everyone creates with the yarns once they leave the shelves.

This week feels extra special for two reasons.

A very kind customer surprised me with this beautiful pair of socks knitted in my favourite King Cole Zig Zag 4ply, thank you Geraldine ❤️. The colours work up so brilliantly and the finished socks are even better than I imagined. I’ve worn them to work this week. 🥰

We’ve also had this gorgeous crochet scarf brought in, made using James C Brett Cotton Waves. As Cotton Waves is a brand new yarn for Brecon Wool, it was wonderful to see how softly and beautifully it works up in a finished project. 😍

A huge thank you to both customers for letting me share their makes. Seeing your creativity is one of the best parts of the job and I know other customers love the inspiration too.
