A Tad Hooked on Books

Apparently I can run a bookshop, organise school events, mentor an amazing team… but ask me to do a simple selfie wave and my brain just says… absolutely not. 😂👋

Proof that you don’t have to be polished to build something you love.

I fluff my words, pull odd faces, forget how humans are meant to wave… and yet I still get to spend my days surrounded by books, helping schools, encouraging children to read, and supporting the lovely people in my team as they build their own businesses.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to be an influencer.
You definitely don’t need to know how to wave at your own phone. 🤦‍♀️🤣

You just need a love of books, a willingness to give it a go, and someone in your corner cheering you on.

Teachers already have enough on their plates.

Lesson planning.
Marking.

I joined Usborne because I loved books.

I never imagined it would give me so much more than that.

Some events really do feel like they’ve been sprinkled with a little fairy tale magic… ✨💜

Another incredible event with Enchanted Parties, and once again, they absolutely blew us away. The show was amazing, the girls were completely captivated, and seeing their faces light up made my heart so happy.

One of the things I love most about my little bookshop is that my girls get to come along for the adventure too. They get to meet incredible characters, enjoy experiences like this, and (on occasion… emphasis on occasion 🤣) even help me with the book stall!

It’s the kind of “bring your children to work” day I never imagined I’d have, and I wouldn’t swap it for the world. ❤️

📖 Five years ago I opened my £48 Usborne starter kit, spotted the travel incentive and laughed…

“Yeah right… that’ll never be me!” 🤣

Last year… I won a trip to the Azores, with Carron. 🌴✈️

This year… I somehow did it AGAIN and found myself exploring Vietnam with the lovely Jane, Laura and Vikki! 🇻🇳❤️

Turns out my husband was right (don’t tell him I said that! 😂).

What started as “I’ll earn a bit of extra money and get discounted books for the girls” has become friendships, flexibility, confidence, and adventures I never imagined I’d have.

The best bit? I still get to fit my business around my family.

Not bad for a little pop up bookshop! 📚✨

If you’d told me five years ago I’d be “selling” books, I’d have laughed.

Turns out I don’t sell… I share.

I share brilliant books, help schools and nurseries get FREE books, accidentally fill my house with books (no regrets), and my girls think “helping Mum at work” is a normal weekend. 😂📚
