I thought I’d quickly clean her leaves before getting on with my day…
That was 3 hours ago 😅

One leaf turned into ten,
ten turned into a full inspection,
and now I’m questioning my life choices while she just sits there looking expensive.

At this point I don’t own a plant.
I work for her.

She’s living her best life…
and I’m on leaf number 27 with no end in sight.

Should I be proud or concerned at this point? 😂🌿

I think my plant is trying to take over the house.
She’s now reaching the ceiling and choosing her own direction like she has a plan.
I moved her once.
She moved back.
I don’t know how to explain that, but it happened.
She’s also started attaching herself to things like she’s settling in permanently.
I don’t think I own a plant anymore.
I think I’m just staff.
Be honest… would you keep her or run? 😅

I made a mistake naming her Karen.
She developed personality almost immediately.
At first it was small things…
She started leaning towards the window like she had plans.
She now prefers bright light, but only indirect — direct sun makes her dramatic.
I watered her once and she looked at me like I’d done it wrong.
She’s not growing like a normal plant.
She’s expanding… strategically.
I don’t think I’m taking care of her anymore.
I think I’m just staff.
This is getting slightly out of control.
Be honest… should I be worried?

I found this plant in 2020 while I was doing end of tenancy cleaning on my own.
The house was completely empty. Properly empty.
No furniture, no noise, no life… just me questioning my career choices in silence.
Except her.
She was sitting in the corner like she already owned the place and I was just there to maintain it.
I stood there thinking “this is a bit weird”…
and then I apologised to a plant.
A plant.
She didn’t react. Which somehow made it worse.
I think that was the moment I stopped being the main character in my own life.
Anyway… I wasn’t planning on keeping her.
But here we are.Also… she’s now reaching the ceiling.
I think she’s trying to leave. Or expand.
