The National Association of Primary Education (NAPE) published my article this week in their most recent journal. The focus was inclusion. It provided an opportunity for me to highlight the lack of representation of fathers in children’s literature and to shine a light on why it is so important to change this! I am so proud that this will now be sitting in the staff room of primary schools up and down the country.

I took the opportunity to mention two groups working hard to correct the narrative and improve representation of fathers: and

DM me to learn more or for a full copy of the article.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared any author news but this month I wrote an article that has been featured in the latest journal of the National Association of Primary Education (NAPE). Issue 36 had an inclusion focus and I wrote a piece called ‘including daddy’.

If you teach in a primary school then you will probably find this edition in the staff room next to the biscuits 😁😊 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

October is black history month. I was passing through London’s Waterloo station recently and saw the Windrush monument for the first time. As a second generation child of the Windrush it was beautiful to see that history represented ❤️

Without the Windrush pioneers I may not have had the opportunities I have had in the UK to both work and publish my book Daddy and Me!

I hope you have taken the opportunity to learn something new during the month of October 😊

🇬🇧 Saddened by the death of HM Queen Elizabeth ll. She was the queen, but she was also a mother and grandmother. This is certainly a momentous time in British history and today was quite a day.

🐻Today I am remembering the time that she surprised everyone by having tea with Paddington bear. I thought I would share our Paddington bear book collection with you.

🐻 Such classic books. It’s no surprise to me that the Queen loved Paddington ❤️

How amazing is this Lego set? It’s currently in a Lego competition and needs your vote 🙌🏽

🛖 A traditional South African Ndebele hut with a small paddock for cattle, an acacia tree, a Ndebele vehicle and four Ndebele minifigures.

The Ndebele nation is one of the Bantu ethnic groups in Southern Africa. The Ndebele tribe is known for its splendid colourful hut designs and traditional attire.

🇿🇦 This is a collaborative project between .leyland and Both born and raised in South Africa. They want to create awareness and give children a Lego set to play with that feels familiar to them.

🗳 To vote and support visit https://ideas.Lego.com and search for Ndebele village then click on support and leave a kind comment 🖤

what do you think?? It’s amazing right 🤩
