The AU Player Fund are delighted to welcome the formation of the Supporters Association. We look forward to working with the AUSA for the betterment of all things Ayr United.
The newly formed Ayr United Supporters' Association (AUSA) has opened for membership.
From tonight, fans can sign up for just £5 (or £1 for under 16s) to join the movement.
The group, which has been in development since last October, says it hopes to "engage with every like minded Ayr United fan who has the future of the club at heart."
Supporters behind the AUSA say their aim is to build better communication between the club's board and fans, whilst providing "innovative ideas and resources to boost match attendance."
Improving the Somerset Park atmosphere was a key thread to come from the AUSA's fan survey held earlier this year, which drew more than 1,000 responses.
The AUSA also plans to relaunch the popular Panda Pals initiative in a new format with welcome packs on offer to young fans signing up.
Members who join the AUSA will gain priority access to a pre-season Q&A with new first team boss Gary Naysmith and his assistant Brown Ferguson.
A special £10 tier is open to businesses looking to come on board and help enhance the AUSA's footprint.
Association spokesman, Cally Yorke, said: "The fans' survey we completed in March provided some great feedback and ideas around what fans would like to see happen. But unless we have fans on board, and volunteers to help make things happen, it is hard to progress these ideas.
"The AUSA can coordinate, organise and take these ideas to fruition. For example, if fans want a pre match fanzone with food and entertainment, can we get like minded individuals together to provide the resource to support the Board to make that happen? I believe we can.
"The Owner and Board have been fully supportive of what we are trying to do and for the AUSA to work that is absolutely crucial.
"We have set membership levels as low as we can, we will have overheads like website costs, as we want inclusivity and as many of the fanbase to come on board and support what we are trying to do.
"I think we should look initially to engage with every like minded Ayr United fan who has the future of the club at heart.
"We would ask them to come on board and help us make a difference at this exciting time with a new manager at the helm and fantastic progress off the park.”
