Professionals... there's not long left to grab your tickets for this one...
Next week we're launching Raising Resilient Teens, and we'd love you to be there. Today's young people face growing pressures – social media, peer influence, exploitation, violence, and online harms. Yet many parents and carers tell us they feel overwhelmed, isolated, and unsure where to turn for practical support.

πŸ‘‰18th August 2026 | Official Launch: https://raising-resilient-teens.raiselysite.com/

Join us for a series of interactive activities showing how the programme equips parents and carers with the confidence, knowledge, and practical tools to better support the young people in their care. You'll get to experience activities from the programme first-hand, discover a new (and different!) early intervention resource, and network with professionals from across the West Midlands – with lunch and refreshments provided throughout.

This isn't another parenting programme. Raising Resilient Teens is different.

🌍Today is International Youth Day

This year's theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations," is one we see the truth of every day at JBF.

Every young person we work with across the West Midlands has their own story, their own circumstances, their own struggles. But what they share is the same as young people everywhere...they want to feel safe, be heard, and have a real chance at a better future.

We believe young people are the solution, not the problem. These are young people with potential, ideas, and the right to grow up safe.

Through our Full Circle Programme, we deliver targeted education to children, young people, and families across the Midlands, building the decision-making, consequential thinking, and problem-solving skills that help young people choose a different path before they're ever at risk. It's prevention through education, not just intervention after the event.

The government's August knife surrender scheme is building on real progress - over 15,000 knives have now been taken off Britain's streets, with knife-related homicides at their lowest level in 35 years. We're proud to support this national effort.

But change doesn't stop at a national campaign, it has to happen on our doorsteps too.

Since 2022, the James Brindley Foundation has funded and placed four knife bins across Walsall, each collecting hundreds of weapons a year. Now, we want to go further. We're working to install more bins across the West Midlands, but we can't do it alone. Funding, placing, and maintaining every bin relies on the generosity of our supporters.

πŸ’› Here's how you can help:

Knife-related homicides have dropped to their lowest level in 35 years, with over 15,000 knives taken off Britain's streets through national surrender schemes. Knife-enabled homicides are down 26%, and knife crime overall has fallen by 11%.

These figures are hugely encouraging, and that's why the James Brindley Foundation is proud to once again support the government's August knife surrender scheme. Progress like this only continues if we keep the momentum going, nationally AND doing our bit locally too.

Since 2022, we've placed four knife bins across the borough of Walsall, each collecting hundreds of weapons every year. But they're about more than collection, they're a way for us to reach the root causes of serious youth violence and keep the conversation going. Every bin has a QR code, giving communities, especially young people, a safe, anonymous way to report concerns or share their views on street safety. That helps us put our resources exactly where they're needed most.

We believe young people are the solution, not the problem.

We've teamed up with Run for Charity, giving YOU a brand-new way to back the work we do every day - preventing serious youth violence and helping build safer communities.

Run for Charity is the UK's largest platform for charity events, so there's something for everyone, not just marathon runners. They also do family fun days, inflatable runs, colour runs, swimathons and cycling events, alongside the classic 5Ks and half marathons.

Calling all professionals! πŸ“’

Parents and carers get plenty of support when their children are young. But what about the teenage years?

Today's young people face growing pressures - social media, peer influence, exploitation, violence, and online harms.

Yet many parents and carers tell us they feel overwhelmed, isolated, and unsure where to turn for practical support.

That's why we're launching Raising Resilient Teens, and we'd love you to be there.

After such a fantastic evening on Friday, we eventually had to ask Lee to put his quiz master mic down and get back to the day jobs! 🎀

Speaking of great moments, hear from Cameron, one of the latest to join our growing community of Full Circle Practitioners, as he shares his experience of the Full Circle Programme, delivered by our very own Training Manager.
