I opened a 35-year-old VHS tape recorded by my dad, and it felt like stepping straight into a time capsule 🥹📼

This footage takes us back to May 5, 1989, right into the vibrant heart of the Bordeaux Carnival in France 🇫🇷. The music, the marching bands, the old cars, and the crowd—everything about this day feels frozen in a completely different era. No smartphones, no social media, just people completely present in the moment.

Another emotional family memory preserved on VHS tape ❤️📼

This footage was filmed in France during 1991 and shows my brother at the park while my dad filmed us spending time together.

One of my favourite parts is my brother doing the old owl sound trick with his hands 🦉😂 — something so many kids used to spend hours trying to learn back then.

What makes these tapes especially meaningful today is that both my dad and my brother are no longer here.

These tiny ordinary moments became some of the most valuable memories our family still has ❤️
