Did you know this?
Access to education in Ethiopia has improved significantly. Approximately 3 million pupils were in primary school in 1994/95. By 2008/09, primary enrollment had risen to 15.5 million – an increase of over 500%. Secondary school enrollment also grew more than fivefold during this period.
It is really impressive to see these figures and be proud. So I started thinking about ways to help to make this even better and keep the progress going for the future of our nation. Since building schools only helps to improve number of students enrollment and it wouldn't increase the quality of education. So I asked how WE can help.
There can be enough number of teachers. There can be blackboards and chalks. Without learning content and text books students can’t learn and quality of education will then decline
Do you want to change these realities to a better situation? Do you really want to help Ethiopian students to improve their learning achievement? If this is what in your heart, donate new or old educational materials and books. Please help by collecting learning materials and books. An outdated or scrap educational material or a book that can be found around you is very much valuable in Ethiopian rural schools.
Please share this with others. And ask them to help to change the poor learning to a greater achievement. You are the one who can start the change.

But what is the status of learning achievement in the improved school enrollment in Ethiopia. Learning achievement is very poor and makes you very disturbed if you look on the study. You can see the National Learning Assessment Reports to know the reality.

Dear All
Education is vital to a thriving society. A society that is ignorant will become the breeding ground for violence and intolerance. But an educated society will be a breeding ground for tolerance and peace, justice and understanding, innovation and advancement, and positive, self-sustaining growth. It's important to educate our children, no matter where they live, for they will grow to become responsible citizens of their society. Each child represents a future, the future of the community, of the country, and indeed the future of the whole world.

The purpose of this group is to involve people like you who have access to books that would be sent to help those who dont. This gives all the opportunity to change lives of those who are triving to change theirs.
