Hola a todos les dejamos por aquí un apartado como promover hábitos de lectura en edades tempranas.

El formato lectura es un método donde se prueba la mejora en la compresión del niño. Recordemos que las pantallas no tienen buenos resultados en el aspecto compresión debido a que el cerebro del niño esta todavía en desarrollo es “inmaduro” hacia la información que esta recibiendo de una pantalla hecha por algoritmos artificiales y donde El Niño tiene siempre una actitud pasiva.

Joining in reading habits.

Share reading format requires some details to pay attention to:

This should be a routine. Find the appropriate time and keep the same schedule or moment of the day. Night time story is the most common practice but we have other moments of the day that could fit better for you: After school, coming back from the park, before or after a nap…
Create a calm, quiet atmosphere. If one day your kid is really agitated and you are not able to help him to calm down. Delay or skip reading that day. Please, don’t make a fight out of it.
While reading both, parent and kid, are looking at the book.
Hold your kid facing the book.
If you have more than one child, gather together facing the book.
If you are reading to 3 or more children, hold the book on one side and facing the kids.
Try to hold the book with one hand, this is hard. One trick is to have your knees available in order to hold the book when you are pointing at something or use your arm when you are reading to a group.
While reading, it is important to interact with kids. Allow them and yourself to make comments or questions without losing an appropriate rhythm to make the story interesting.

Para ser exitosos en la lectura, no sólo tenemos que saber decodificar. Contar con el modelo de un lector maduro les ayudará en su compresión.

Compartiendo juntos por medio del cuento, creamos un espacio que se convierte en un momento memorable y de disfrute para la familia.

Talking about activating your Kids brain 🧠

This article written by M.Ed Juan Alacid talks about making the right questions.

Resulting in the activation of previous knowledge and making your student/kid engage with new topic you are about to introduce to the class.

Although is not the same as introducing a new topic. While reading to our kids we should also make the right questions so they also make this awesome connections.

This is what this third week of the Workshop is about. Before Reading During Reading and After Reading.

By now all of you taking the workshop know is not all about decoding or letters printed in the book.

It goes beyond, for all of you wanting to take the workshop your still welcome to do so.

All videos are pre-recorder and you can watch them in your own time. Even if you don’t read to your kids in English the techniques will work in any language.
