We’ve just finished another round of testing on our Ant Battery INR21700-MT50P.

If you’re looking for a real 40A continuous discharge 21700 cell, this is the kind of data that matters.

30A constant current discharge to 2.50V cut-off.

We really appreciate the technical feedback from the battery community.

Recently, some customers pointed out an important question about our INR21700-50SP 50A discharge test:

Voltage, capacity, energy, and runtime are useful data — but for a high-current 21700 cell, temperature data is just as important.

That is true.

At high current, internal resistance creates heat. Even with a low internal resistance around 4–4.5mΩ, a 50A discharge can generate about 10–11W of heat inside a single cell.

That is why we made this simple heat-loss analysis.

The result is clear:
as discharge current increases, heat loss rises sharply because internal resistance heating follows I²R.

For our INR21700-50SP cell, 50A discharge should be understood together with proper thermal conditions. In applications such as FPV drones or UAV packs, airflow during operation can help control cell temperature. But in enclosed packs or applications with limited cooling, the temperature may rise much faster.

50A continuous discharge requires proper airflow/cooling conditions. Without cooling, cell temperature may exceed safe operating limits.

So our position is simple:

50A discharge performance should be evaluated together with:
• Cell surface temperature
• Ambient temperature
• Cooling condition
• Test setup
• Voltage and current curve
• Repeat test results from multiple cells

We will continue improving our test reports and sharing more complete data, including temperature results under different cooling conditions.

We just finished another discharge test for our INR21700-50SP high-current 21700 cell.

This time, we tested it at 10A, 20A, 30A, 40A, and 50A discharge currents, with a 2.50V cut-off voltage.

The chart shows how the voltage changes as capacity is released.
What we care about most is not just the capacity number, but how stable the voltage curve stays under higher current.

At 50A discharge, the cell still delivered 4.83Ah and 15.95Wh, which is a solid result for high-load applications.

We just completed a discharge test for our high-current INR21700-50SP cell.

Test condition: 50A constant current discharge
Cut-off voltage: 2.5V
Start voltage: 4.176V
End voltage: 2.492V
Measured capacity: 4.83Ah
Measured energy: 15.95Wh
Discharge time: about 5 minutes 54 seconds

Even under a high-current 50A load, the cell delivered stable output until the cut-off voltage. This result shows why a high-discharge 21700 cell is a practical choice for demanding applications such as FPV drones, UAV battery packs, robotics, power tools, and other high-load systems.
