The sentencing of four men for their role in the killing of 41 Christians during a church massacre has renewed global attention on the persecution of Christians and the devastating impact of extremist violence.

While no court ruling can erase the pain experienced by the victims' families, many see the verdict as an important step toward accountability and justice. The tragedy serves as a reminder that countless believers around the world continue to face violence, discrimination, and even death because of their faith.

At the same time, Christians are often challenged to hold both justice and forgiveness in tension, seeking accountability for evil while continuing to pray for repentance and transformation.

Please join us in remembering the victims, praying for their families, and standing with persecuted believers wherever they may be.

The life of a Christian is a life of total selflessness. When we give we are not to give with a stingy heart, expecting to receive something in return. This is the same attitude Christ had for us. Christ didn't come for us so that we could give Him something for his benefit. What can one give the King of Kings that He doesn't have already? Nothing. This is why we are to only love God back, through our words, our thoughts, and our actions towards His children

CRC-N JOIN NATIONWIDE MOURNING, OFFERS PRAYERS FOR NIGERIA'S SECURITY CHALLENGES

Members of the CRC-N congregation in Jalingo the Taraba State capital on Sunday worshipped in black attire in compliance with the directive of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to observe three days of mourning, prayer, and fasting over the security challenges facing the nation.

The service featured special songs of worship rendered by various groups within the church, after which the Pastor-in-Charge, Rev Stephen Nebu, led the congregation in an intensive prayer session, committing the nation's challenges to God.

Special prayers were offered for divine intervention in the country's security situation, peace in families and communities, wisdom for both secular and spiritual leaders, as well as unity and harmony among Nigerians.

Delivering the sermon, Elder Ibrahim Yaboros took his text from John 4:22-24 and spoke on the theme, "Worshipping God Through Divine Encounter."

He emphasized the importance of genuine worship, stressing that true worship involves seeking and experiencing a personal encounter with God.

Elder Yaboros cited the example of Abraham, who demonstrated unwavering obedience by willingly offering Isaac to God, and encouraged believers to give their best to God at all times.

According to him, Christianity goes beyond regular church attendance, participation in conferences, and singing in church. He noted that the essence of the Christian faith lies in absolute obedience to God and having a genuine encounter with Him.

He expressed concern that many people attend church services without experiencing a transformation through a personal encounter with God, describing the situation as unfortunate and calling on believers to deepen their relationship with their Creator.

The service ended with renewed prayers for God's intervention in Nigeria's affairs and a call on Christians to remain steadfast in faith during challenging times.

*REVISED PROPOSAL LETTER - REQUEST FOR CAN INTERDENOMINATIONAL WORSHIP CENTER*

*SUBJECT: Request for Construction of CAN Interdenominational Worship Center for Peace & Unity in Taraba State*

Your Excellency,
Dr. Agbu Kefas
Executive Governor of Taraba State
Government House, Jalingo

Your Excellency Sir,

*1. SALUTATION & CONTEXT*
I greet you respectfully and thank God for the peace Taraba is enjoying under your leadership. Taraba is called "Nature's Gift to the Nation" because of our unity in diversity.

*2. THE REQUEST*
Sir, I humbly propose that the Taraba State Government consider building a modern *CAN Interdenominational Worship Center* in Jalingo, or one per senatorial zone.

CAN = Christian Association of Nigeria covers all sects: Catholic, Anglican, Baptist, Pentecostal, Orthodox, etc. One center where all denominations can worship together during state events, thanksgiving, prayers for Taraba.

*3. WHY GOVERNMENT SHOULD BUILD IT - 4 REASONS:*

1. *PEACE & UNITY:* When all CAN sects worship in one govt-built center, it kills division. "Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together" - Psalm 133:1. This center becomes symbol of Christian unity for all Taraba people.

2. *STATE EVENTS:* During Democracy Day, New Year, Security prayers, Thanksgiving Service - govt currently rents halls. A CAN center = permanent venue. Saves money + gives dignity.

3. *TOURISM & IMAGE:* States like Kaduna, Plateau, Benue have govt-supported worship centers. It shows Taraba respects all faiths. Investors and visitors see peace = they bring money.

4. *SOCIAL IMPACT:* The center can double as skills center, emergency shelter, and hall for youth programs on non-service days. One building, many benefits for citizens.

*4. OUR PLEDGE AS CHRISTIANS/CAN:*
1. We will maintain the facility ourselves through CAN Taraba
2. We will use it to pray for you, govt, and peace of Taraba always
3. We will open it for all citizens during disasters, regardless of religion

*5. CLOSING PRAYER*
Your Excellency, Solomon built a temple and God blessed his reign. We’re not asking for temple, just one center to unite CAN sects and bless Taraba.

Please consider this request. I’m available to meet with CAN Chairman + your team to discuss location, design, and cost.

God bless you, God bless Taraba State.

Yours in service,
*Zabadi Sunday*
