Happy Birthday to Jane Wiedlin. Guitarist/vocalist for Go-Go's, sure they were not a ska band but they toured with both Madness and The Specials, and Jane co-wrote the song "Our Lips Are Sealed" with Terry Hall.

We get requests daily for wedding invitation design. One of the big questions we ask our potential clients is what printing process would they like to use. We realize that not everyone has a background in design or printing, so we've decided to add an explaination on a different process every couple of days.

Today, we decided to kick it off with Thermography.

Thermography, is a raised type of printing but, no impression is made on the actual paper. After the ink is applied to the paper, it is dusted with a powder while the ink is still wet. The ink and powder are then heated which causes the letters to rise giving it a three dimensional effect.

Thermography is a cost effective option if you lie engraving but, are looking for a cheaper option. Thermography also takes less time to complete and costs about fifty percent less than an engraved piece.
